I keep seeing references to the Mavs being in the running for Stephenson but don't see how they have cap space to get him after the Parsons signing.

Unless they can offload George Hill on somebody I'm not sure how this makes sense. A team like the Pacers that have vowed not to pay the luxury tax can't afford to tie up $20m in one position like they'd have with Hill and Bledsoe under contract. And who'd play SG in that scenario?

I think they would like an upgrade at point guard, but you're right that they wouldn't offer Bledsoe any more than they offered Stephenson.

If they did make the trade, I would then shop Hill for a shooting guard and see what I could get.

would have to be a sign n trade, but I can't see Indiana biting on anything the Mav's have to offer.

I can foresee a brawl happening in training camp between Stephenson and Henderson already. Henderson isn't going to give his starting spot away easily, and hes a hot head as it is, perhaps more so than Stephenson but hes just way more mature at this point. Hendersons not exactly a terrible player either. Maybe this is what he needs to get his ass in gear and use his athletic talents to the fullest. Hes never been pushed since hes arrived here.

Either one. They're both combo guards anyway.

Hill is better off as a SG anyway.

I have never heard of Henderson being a hothead and definitely not of Stephenson's caliber. When you start making up things to put him down, that's when the Hendo hate is out of control. When has Henderson ever lashed out at anyone?

This is the closest I've ever seen Henderson do anything "hot headed" and it's all Richardson's doing. If anything, Henderson is not hot-headed enough. If Hendo's still on the team, and behind Lance Stephenson, I think he'd thrive in a sixth man role and he's professional enough to embrace it. I'd rather see a good-scoring three-point shooter taking his spot, but I really only disliked Henderson as a starter as a fit with the rest of the unit. He would be a dangerous weapon against other teams' benches.

First off, I rarely put Henderson down. Second off, while being a fan of Duke I have seen him be a hot head plenty of times, which is why I mentioned the "mature" angle. I like Henderson, alot. And I definitely don't make up things to put Henderson down. Come on now.

I find it bizarre how silent things are around Lance seemingly from all ends.

I had a dream that Marc Stein will be the first to report Lance is coming to Charlotte for a meeting

I honestly think that a HUGE amount of this silence has to do with Lance's agent. Having a basic lawyer as an agent is fine if you are just doing standard contract negotiation. It's much more risky when going through free agency. The good agents get stuff done. I'm willing to bet that if he was with a big name that he would already be signed somewhere ... maybe even here.

That said I really don't expect the Hornets to go after him. Lance is the kind of player that can get an executive fired. He's going to be expensive and on a multi year contract. He's the guy that will either be a huge success or bring a team down. If it's the latter he's going to be untradeable and a financial handicap for years. THIS is where Higgins had an advantage ... not in numbers or smartness ... but in his relationship with Jordan. A guy like Higgins can more safely take the risk of signing Lance. Cho can't.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Okay this post just came up on reddit. I don't know how accurate it is but at least it's something.

I wonder, if Michael Jordan want Lance Stephenson and Rich Cho doesn't, what would happen?

Does Cho even have a compelling argument against Lance? And I'm not talking about Lance at a certain price I'm talking about if money is not an issue. I ask this because with Gordon Hayward, money was not the issue. Cho can't argue against money being an issue if Jordan wants the player because it's Jordan's money. Cho can argue against talent though - and he had no case against Gordon Hayward's talent. He has no case against Lance's talent either. All he can do is argue the numbers but if Jordan wants the guy it's Jordan's bank account.

seeing as how MJ didnt even meet in person with hayward (only by skype) i would be very skeptical that he is meeting with lance. MJ didnt even meet al jefferson in person last year until training camp. my gut says this report is 99.99% garbage.
