Favorite Heat Era?

Post#1 » by dcee101 » Tue Jul 15, 2014 11:09 am

I'm probably in the minority but the big three era was one of my least favorite eras of Heat basketball. The constant hatred, the bandwagon, botox loving lower bowl and craptastic fans, and the huge egos left a sour taste in my mouth even when we won. Give me a sold out Miami Arena against the Knicks any freaking day over the big three era.

So what was your favorite era?

3 rings in 7 seasons is the best era
2005-2006 season to 2012-2013

Idk about you but I'm allergic to scrubs (no Stephens a smith)

Something very nostalgic for me about the Steve Smith era. Nothing like reaching the playoffs for the first time.

But my favorite is the Zo-Tim era. Relevant for the first time. Pat Riley coaching the hell out of that team, finding Lenard, having Mashburn... those were awesome times.

Odd but lovable losers era. During my youth days, I guess but Steve Smith, Baby Jordan and Glen Rice. Big 3 era has been great too but kinda got an after taste in my mouth, right now. I love rings and parades but there is something to be said of continuity.

It's funny, but this last year I didn't even enjoy the regular season as much as I had in the past. No offense to Lebron, but prime Wade was a much more exciting player to watch then he was. My favorite was the Shaq and Wade era. Shaq and Wade were such good passers and we had all the parts to compliment them in j-will, UD, posey, etc...even walker had some great games. And of course mourning wrecking the Mavs and giving his all for his ring. I stayed up all night watching the news of people going dumb on south beach in 2006

Wade era. He was the reason I became a Heat fan, because I absolutely loved his game in college. Didn't really follow the team before him, but I did watch most of the important (I guess) games from earlier eras during various offseasons after 2005 or 2006.
I absolutely loved the first Big 3 season, but after that, the pressure to win it was just too high and with all the hate... I did enjoy it, but it just wasn't the same as before.

Heat era? There is only one.

July 8, 2010 - July 11, 2014

Is the team even around anymore? I thought it got contracted. Amiright? Go Cavs!

seriously though, the era with Wade on the team. Damn good one.

Tie between Heat- Knicks Rivalry & Big Three

Heat-Knicks-----So much emotion, passion and close games

Big 3----The amount of amazing plays, Hate from media and rival fans, great combacks & franchise bests.

Zo-Timmy era is when I became a die-hard fan so that will always stand out to me. The infusion of Pat Riley's culture into the franchise captivated me.

It will always kill me that we were robbed of the peak of that era due to Zo's kidney disease. I honestly believe we could have won it all that year. That was heartbreaking.

Gotta be the wade era for me. Oddly enough, my favorite year was when I could afford to go to a ton of home games. A lot of the tickets were free lols. 07-08.

No doubt the Wade era.....

And if I wanted to be specific, it would be the Wade/Shaq era. That really got me into the game. Still pains me what could've been in 04-05.....

I was a die hard through it all (though I'm only 24 years old -- I was a kid through most of it), but it's got to be the Big 3 Era. The Wade Era is a very close second, but I hated Shaq before and after his arrival much more than I could ever imagine disliking LeBron. Antoine Walker too. Nothing can compare to the Big 3 Era.... probably ever.

The Knicks Heartbreak Era.... sigh.... loved that team to death but Allan Houston's nightmares will live longer than LeBron's letter. That SOB ruined my childhood with one shot.

Nothing will ever top 2012-13 season for me.

25th year anniversary of the franchise. Defending champs. 27 wins a row. 66 wins. 25-5 record against the West. Jason Terry sent to the crossroads. The 27 point comeback against Cleveland. Bosh beating the Spurs alone with a game winner.
We dealt the Bulls the most lopsided playoff loss in their franchise's history and backdoor swept them again. We beat Indy again. We had the most exciting Finals ever and won it by the skin of our teeth. The only thing that comes close for Miami sports to that season in recent memory is the 2001 Canes (I wasn't alive for the '72 Fins and that was a million years ago anyway).

I picked the 4th option. Not even close.

My favorite Heat team of all time is the 03 04 heat followed by the 05 06 heat.

Return to Miami Heat
