What could we offer that makes this deal work? You can't package TPEs right?

Well now, I guess I have may answer to the move-counter move from Ernie
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

I'm guessing it would be either Humphries or Blair.

I guess Humph is a bit more of a floor spacer, but I really like Blair.

How would you all break this one down?

3rd year team option, thank god. 4.5 mil per year for a decent 4/5 player....I think I'm ok with it. Paired with Birch I think it makes sense.

UNREAL DEAL. Major props to Ernie on this one. 3 years $13 million is incredibly cheap for a quality veteran big man who can play both C and PF and both offense and defense. Non-guaranteed 3rd year (Durant year) is cherry on top. Hats off to you Ernie.

That last year BETTER be a team option. Otherwise we lost some Durante room!

I've been advocating for this move, it does seem weird that Ernie is doing exactly what most of us have been saying. The 3rd year is not guaranteed, but this is key...in the KD thread, I brought up the fact that the Wiz won't have a power forward on the books unless they drafted one within the next two years. They could conceivably pick up Kris' option and roll with Wall/Beal/Durant/Humphries/Gortat as their starting 5, but we'll see.

Solid move for the Wizards.

Is DC becoming a FA destination? Never thought I would see this day.

Raf... could you elaborate on Humphries? Saw him as a freshman in college and has seemed to have good and bad games as a pro.

Blah...not as enthusiastic as you guys are. He's okay but I would rather have taken Blair on a cheaper deal.

Great pick up. He's well worth the money. Great big, just not the rim protector Boston needs, otherwise almost our entire board wanted him back if we didn't have 831 non rim protecting bigs.

Goodluck, Wiz really are gonna be the real deal this year!

Per 36 stats show 15 ppg 10 rpg
All at a good price, I don't know about his defense but as a bench floor spacing big this is a nice move
I still want Blair, but I don't know if we can still get him, although it also looks like that deal was never really that close to happening as was reported previously

Celtic fan here (Obviously).

Don't let TMZ fool you, Hump is a great guy and he'll be a guy you'll love to have on the team. He's got a great work ethic, he's an elite rebounder, he's a good defender and he can hold his own on offense as well. And he's good enough to fill in as a starter whenever necessary.

Really like what you guys are doing, I know it was pretty bad a few years ago with McGee, Blatche, etc. but you guys are on the rise and I wish you the best.

Boston fan here.

Solid pickup. Humphries does everything to a decent level - not a bad defender, has a decent midrange game when he wants to, pretty efficient, underrated athlete. WIll give you a productive 20 mins a night easy and he will hustle for every single play.

Nice pick up.
