Kobe has always seemed to mesh better with the smarter players... So I think he and Lin will click... But I wouldn't expect Kobe to be jumping for joy that we got Lin or anything. Jeremy is going to have to earn his respect, but I think he has more of a chance at that, than a lot of other players.

Trust me, I don't think Lin expect anything on a platter.

Dude is just thankful for the opportunity to play in the NBA, when he's on his game you'll find yourself rooting for him in the end. I did :)
* Since 1985, Jeremy Lin became one of 15 players to have scored at least 20 points, seven assists and a steal for six games in a row, including 136 points in 5 starts beating out Iverson, Jordan and O'Neal :D

If I'm regurgitating what you've heard before, countless times it seems, than maybe there is some truth to what is being said, hmm? No, that can't possibly be!

I'm not advocating "Starphucking" or whatever you call it. Ball movement is beautiful and should be mandatory. That said, you have to understand that not every team is going to play like the Spurs. Not every team is going to have that type of selfless ball movement or the coaching excellence to implement that style of basketball.

Jeremy Lin is a role player, a serviceable starting point guard at best. That's what he is in this league. The sooner you can put the entire Linsanity craze to bed, the sooner you will be able move on and accept that fact and for once enjoy him without feeling like Lin is being slighted everywhere he goes.

Troll.

Can you be anymore condescending and pretentious?

Good news, you got a half way decent player.

Bad news, you got his delusional fan base as well.

Larsv8 bit through his collar, I will drag our bitter defeated and delusional fans back to HOU. It's been a terrible FA period so far for us. We ran out of kittens to punch too.

Apologies to Lakers fans. We don't mean to sound like uneducated bumpkins...

Thank you MKL.

Lin is nothing but house money to us, no one here cares what he does.

Lastly this board isn't worried about his fan base coming here propping him up and trying to blame other players for his faults. We have too many damn good posters who actually know basketball and can shoot down any ill conceived argument they may try to make. And I'll be the first one they run into if they try to come with that weak BS.....believe that.

Why wouldn't you care what Lin does? He could end up being an important piece for you guys. Sounds like you may have bought into some of the bs trolls like LarsV8 spread.

Let me set you straight....I don't buy into ANYTHING. I've seen plenty of Lin I know what he can do. When I said " no one cares what he does"....I didn't mean it in a negative tone even though it may have looked that way. I know our posters here well being a 9 year vet of the board, and that was said based on knowing our fan base always gives a new Laker a chance before we go in on his basketball skills and what purpose it serves as far as helping the team. Bottom line man Lin has a clean slate with us plain and simple.

What we don't care about his Rocket fans, Clutch City fans or troll fans coming here bringing up old garbage about him, we don't care about what he did in Houston. His job now is to play ball for the Lakers. Lastly we don't care about his defenders coming here trying to blame other teammates for whatever struggles Lin may have for a game. We have knowledgeable basketball posters who will blow holes through those ill conceived " it's so and so's fault and not Lin's" arguments.

You tried to reach way too far in a comment that had no indication I was a detractor of Lin. I've always looked at our board as being a liberal place to post. We had the same influx when Nash joined our team, we knew most where old Suns fans who this board greatly despises. They came, saw and went once they seen Nash wasn't a factor here.

Great post.

Jon Barry is a hater period. Ignore that idiot.

Those videos are just too old as Lin has improved and also fell back on some areas of his game. A lot of that has to do with him forced to play as a combo guard over the past 2 seasons.

Since the Knicks days he's improved on.
His left handle and going left.
His jump shot (no more hitch).
His defense (can fight through screens a lot better).
Finishing around the basket (only behind Lebron in FG% taking the ball to the hole).
Turnovers has been better.

Development which has flatten:
Passing hasn't been as precise and i think it has alot to do with playing the combo position and asked to sit on the 3 point corner.
Overall aggressiveness with shot selection.
Running set plays -- Mchale can't draw a play to save his life.

Let's give this Kid a FAIR chance here.
Rip him when he does BAD.
But praise him when he does GOOD.

In Houston, it's rip him when he does bad....rip him when he does good. The kid was born and grew up in California..a hometown kid. Don't hate him for his fanbase. Just give the kid a chance. He's every thing right about the world we live in today.

And if he has a bad game here or there so be it, we'll point out his miscues and move on. I think he'll be more comfortable here in LA, unlike Houston where Harden, Howard and even Parsons constant berating of him was tiring to see. It would be times I see a screw up from somebody else and they'd yell at him.

Bottom line is we want Lin to ball out, ball hard and everything else will take care of itself.

It's about W's not about what got damn ethnicity he is. He's a Laker and that's all that counts. I think this is gonna be a good thing for us.

i just can't wait for kobe to dig into lin.

it'll be make or break for lin's career

Kobe can dig into anyone he wants. This is Kobe Bryant we are talking about.
Harden on the other hand hasn't won or did jack dilly.

This thread is running around in circles with no real point being made. Lets revisit this when we have any further updates. If there is something else you'd like to discuss regarding Lin, open up a new thread.
