Contract is too long. Do not want him here.

Edit: found the last year is a team option. Makes it a much better contract but then we are far to loaded at PF.

I can vouch for Ersan Ilyasova as a very solid defender at PF that can defend some out to the perimeter and also rebound at a decent rate. Ilyasova's only glaring weakness is his inconsistent offense. His inconsistent offense can be maddening, whereas he'll be capable of efficiently scoring 25-30 points on certain nights and 5-10 points on 2-for-13 shooting other nights. There's just no consistency in his offense, particularly his jump shot. However, I wouldn't mind acquiring him as he's not a detriment like Marvin Williams is

Maybe it would be a better idea to try to swap Marvin for him next offseason then?

Ok so Lance Stephenson is our starting shooting guard yet Gerald Henderson is still on this team. Curious. Cho tried to trade Hendo (+24) for Afflalo but it obviously didn't work out. So has he stopped trying to trade Hendo? Has he exhausted all his options? Is a 6 million 12 contract to a fringe starter really that hard to move? I guess Marcus Thornton required a 1st round pick to move him.

Cody Zeller, Gerald Henderson, Gary Neal for Ryan Kelly, Luke Babbit

Kelly is a godsend to this team. A Big who is lethal behind the arc.

C. Al Jefferson
F. Ryan Kelly
F. Mike Gilchrist
G. Lance Stephenson
G. Kemba Walker

C. Bismak Biyombo
F. Noah Vonleh/Luke Babbit
F. Marvin Williams/Jeff Taylor
G. PJ Hairston
G. Brian Roberts

If Vonleh and Hairston give somewhat decent minutes this is one of the deepest teams in the East.

Don't like the move. We only have one guy known as a shooter on the team and we are giving him up. I think they guy we need to trade is Henderson.

Hairston is a chucker, he's got a good shot but I'd rather we thin out the SG position and get flexibility at the PG spot.

Sign some shooters for cheap from the available FA pool.

God damn, and I thought some on here hated Zeller and Henderson.

Beginning to agree about Hairston, he didn't shoot all that well from 3 in the D League last year either, unless you consider 35 or 36% solid. Hes not a shooter, and doesn't even look much like a scorer. Id still keep him around though to see how he develops.

Well then if we have to sign another shooter we thicken up the SG spot again. The best scenario is to move an older SG like Hendo or Neal and see what we can get. I like Ennis but it is not worth it when we have to replace who we trade again anyway. Now if Phoenix wants a SG to help for a playoff push Neal fits that option. My biggest issue is I am not sure how Henderson takes to the bench.

Neal is and older, smaller, less athletic, worse chucker with no upside. I don't know why wed give away Hairston without seeing what he can be in order to keep someone we know is a career scrub. I want to move Hendo and Neal and resign CDR or at least move Neal, in which case we probably wouldn't resign CDR.

edit: Neal also eats more salary cap. Taylor makes almost nothing and won't cause problems if he gets no minutes.

He's a shooter, first, second and third.

Not very good at it though and I heard that cancer spreads.

Trade him now imo.

Neal at least can play PG and Clifford values flexibility as a commodity.

CDR can play the 2 and 3.

I imagine he'd be back if we want him to be.

I'd like to keep Hairston, keep him as 3rd stringer aka bench fodder, which should give him a reality check and make him want to work his ass off. He isn't the God given beast of a basketball player he thinks he is, and hes going to soon realize that if he hasn't already.

Neal is terrible as a PG. He can only play PG in the sense that he is a bit undersized as a SG so sometimes hes better off guarding opposing PGs. He doesn't really have any skills or the mentality to play PG. Basically, he is an undersized chucker...
