As for Bledsoe, i would be ecstatic if we could lock him down 4 years/$44M. I would hope that Dragic would be down for a similar deal, then we would have our awesome back court held down for $22M a season. That would give us free range on the other starting spots, specially with the extreme raise of the salary cap thats being expected to come along with the new TV deal.

Having a Dragic/Bledsoe back court for $22M a season will look like an outright steal in a year or two.

I'd love it too, but I imagine Dragic has a much better chance of getting some higher offers due to being UFA and never being injured and having more history behind him. No downside or tied up cap space to at least give him an offer, but of course it comes down to who has money and what needs those teams have. We will have to start looking at who will likely have cap space next season too. Maybe a thread to monitor it based on trades during the season and an expected cap of 67 million.

Could be wrong but Dragic doesn't seem too concerned with money. He's becoming a icon in the Phoenix sports world and I'm sure he will want to stay. If he has another good season, the Suns offer $12M and that's the highest salary on the team, I don't see him leaving for $15M+ elsewhere.

Wonder if someone has gotten a max deal having never scored 800 points in a season.

a lot of people had this same theory with fry. I do think he wants to stay but I wouldn't expect a big home town discount.

Not sure if it has been talked about here, but anyone else have any interest in Rudy Gobert? With them having matched Hayward, it means they are not likely to be able to offer a large contract to Kanter or be able to hold on to some of their other guys, without clearing out the house a little. Anyway Gobert intrigues me as a guy who is somewhere between Larry Sanders and Steven Hunter. He is tall, a decent runner and can block shots. He is still early on his rookie deal so he will grow more.... I think he might look good next to Kieff. He would steal time from MP and Len, though.

Okay. Well if Gambo is right and Bledsoe could sign for 4 years, 44 million, that would be great (assuming the medical staff clears him of course), especially with guys like Hayward and Parsons getting max deals. I would much rather have Bledsoe than those guys. Not even close. Bledsoe has the potential to become a superstar point guard in my opinion.

I agree. I think Bledsoe is the 3rd best free agent behind Lebron and Bosh. He has potential to be a top 3 PG. He just needs to want it. Losing him would put us back so far. Yes we almost made the playoffs without him but it's clear he's going to be really really good and Green just made unbelievable shots. No way we can compete next season without him.

Bledsoe better get his ass back to Phx and back into the gym once he's done signing his contract. He's still got improvement to make in his game like becoming a better playmaker and shooter. I hope he wants to be the type of player who wins a championship rather than being labeled as a max player. Personally, he should have taken the offered contract and sign. He's not better than Lowry. If he wants to be a max player he needs to put out for a full season and lead a team into the playoffs.

That's how Jeff started out the summer league last year, so I wouldn't be shocked if he did it a few times this coming season. I don't get hung up on size too much. I tend to focus on ability, flow, and chemistry. I guess it will all come down to rebounding for those two. Both can be decent defenders at times, and we know they both can score.

I'll look up the five man lineups from last year later.

Last season MkMo played center 28% of his playing time. It seems like Jeff is comfortable with Markieff in that role already.

Kinda upset we didn't get Ed Davis for that price. I think he would have added some much needed height and possibly another presence on the inside. I guess Tolliver is a seasoned veteran and appears to be a hard worker, but he's just another tweener and that isn't exactly what we need.

Ed Davis probably got lots of playing time promise although they don't have a coach yet. So he'll showcase his talents in LA, then will get a big payday next summer.

Count me in on the "why the hell didn't we sign Ed David" group.

We still need a big. If we really can tie down Bledsoe for 4/44, then we are stocked with guards and a few small forwards who can pretend to play the 4.

We need rebounds and interior defense. I don't mind waiting until mid season to try to acquire a big name or two, but I'd rather use our last two roster spots (see below) on some TRUE big guys with potential (like Ed Davis)

Bledsoe/Thomas
Dragic/Green/Archie
Tucker/Warren/Marcus
Markieff/Tolliver
Plumlee/Len/Randolph

D-League
Ennis
Brown

As mentioned before, adding Lou to this team would be epic. Imagine Lou and PJ in at the same time. We would get every single loose ball.

There's something wrong with Ed Davis that we don't know or he took less money for 1 year for a chance to get playing time on the Lakers and try again next year in free agency. That contract makes no sense.

The Lakers got the biggest steal of the off season. $2M for Ed Davis? Are you kidding?

You are probably right but it amazes when a guy with over $500 million is close friends with a guy who probably couldn't scratch $100k a year.

I know I couldn't do it right if I was Gambo. I'd be way too jealous and bitter.

nba.com giving warren some love

3. T.J. WARREN, Suns (5)

He had another 26 points in 29 minutes Wednesday while making 11 of 18 shots in a loss to the Timberwolves, putting Warren at 80 points in 92 minutes in Las Vegas. The No. 14 pick continues to score in bunches, just as he did at North Carolina State.
