I think we can finish as high as fourth, and as low as missing the PO's entirely.

Either way, the future is looking bright.

I'm thinking 4-5th as well. Barring injuries, Cleveland and Chicago are the 2 teams I see finishing above us for sure.

I suspect most of the organization is out in Vegas right now for the summer league.

Yep it does seem weird seems like its not official yet. Even Drake said congrats to Lance on becoming a Charlotte Hornet at the ESPYs.

I want to know when we get the press conference and rollout of his uniform? I realize the SL hangs some of this up, but it's time for us to honor our newest star appropriately, versus having him slip in a side door quietly.

I imagine Clifford & Cho will have something next week. It would be great to see Lance participating in some of the informal workouts here to help get aquainted with his team. MJ should provide some mentoring time between now and training camp too. This guy is going to get into BIG $$$ versus his previously modest salary.

I bank on Lance becoming a more mature player. He has a burning desire to be great. We NEED that!
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I'm very interested in seeing the press conference in which Cho officially introduce Lance Stephenson as a member of the Charlotte Hornets. I'm guessing it'll happen after the Las Vegas festivities. A lot has been going on this weekend out on the West Coast, and I'd imagine that they'd want to do the introduction in Charlotte, NC

IS the hold up the Hornets have not yet submitted the signed contract to the NBA league office while both parties signed? They're waiting for Friday (tomorrow) I thought for some reason.

Dennis Rodman once wanted to wear #69. Stern disapproved.

Was reading his 12 things to know about Lance. Why does that guy have such an infatuation with Josh McRoberts? Mentions him like three times in an article about Lance

He wishes he had McBob's fabulous hair.

We all do though.

Yes, they won't do any of this until he's officially signed. I'm not even sure Marvin or Roberts is have signed either. When it's official, they will send out emails, press releases etc...

Same style of game, similar mental make up.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing?

I didn't think that I could like this signing any more. But as a huge Captain Jack fan, now I do. Thank you, Slam. it really is a great comparison.

EwingSweatsALot wrote:OK, So I looked at the regular season stats now on Lance's FTA.

I took the top 30 perimeter players in the FGA <5ft per game stat. and also free throw attempts. I just did a ratio of FTA/FGA<5ft. Out of those 30 players Lance is 28th in that. He attempted 5 shots inside 5 feet a game and only shot 2.5 FTA. The two players worse than him are Tyreke Evans and Tony Allen. Kevin Durant led the stat with 1.8 FTA per shot inside 5 feet.

The average ratio was .9 FTAs. That would put Lance at 4.5 FTA per game which is a decent step up.

Perhaps, it is due to him flailing in the air on such shots and attempting wild lay-ups. He certainly does it from time to time.

I thought it would take longer than this, but I'm already starting to get really annoyed with Cleveland's fans. I guess they're going to be every bit as obnoxious as they were the first go-round with Lebron.

I've been at verbal war with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Andrew Wiggins fans for the past one to four years, so all three of them on the same team will have me putting my money where my mouth is as much as I'll be in heated debates about the Cleveland Cavaliers this upcoming season

It should be a fun season

I like Wiggins, but I've never been a fan of Kyrie and Lebron has always rubbed me the wrong way. I would be so damn awesome to get them in the playoffs and beat them, the salty tears would be enough to create another ocean.

I don't have a problem with LeBron (not on the Heat) or Wiggins, but I do have a adverse view towards Kyrie as he rub me the wrong way too as you aforementioned he does you. I have back and forth debates with LeBron fans that think he's better than Jordan, and I have back and forth debates with Wiggins' fans that think he'll be the best player in the league. I make a lot of money off these naive believers, so I'm not mad at them. It just give me the opportunity to make more money off bets. I won $200 in a bet with a Kyrie fan that bet me on draft day in 2011 that he'll make the playoffs before Kemba. I tend to go out on the limb sometimes

I'm a big Kyrie fan - then again I'm a sucker for flashy plays and guys with a flair for the dramatic. That's part of why I'm so excited for Lance.

It could definitely be this, and also the cause to the effect of him not getting calls when he should.

He does go in wild and flail sometimes which leads to zero contact in the paint, and then when he actually does get hit the refs are hesitant to call. It could be a combo of both and one leading to the other.
