I was looking through the list earlier. How did Venezuela go up 10 spots? Did they beat Uruguay or Colombia's subs in a pre-tournament friendly or something? :D

England might be crappy but putting teams like Greece ahead of them?

FIFA rankings were always terrible anyways.

This system has a number of issues, but it's perfectly rational to place Greece ahead of England.

If Greece outperform England, on what basis are we going to rank England ahead of them?

Well at least in that case the greeks have outperformed the english so what does it matter that the english have a better talent pool when it comes to ranking what they've achieved?

I know France were in a bad spot beforehand but the fact that they're still a spot behind the Swiss when the only French loss was a 0-1 off a set-piece to the reigning champions... FIFA gonna FIFA I guess.

Who cares for that Fifa ranking?

No one knows what the heck they're basing it on anyways and it's just a list of names...

Thought for sure Bosnia would drop. Pleasantly surprised they went up.

To be fair though, the swiss did take the finalist that the faced in the knockouts closer to the edge

yeah, not a knock on the Swiss, more at how awful the French were rated before this tournament. Not a betting man but I'd put money on France reaching at least Semis in 2016 with all that talent they've got.

Brazil shouldn't hve dropped that low. I would still rank them in the top 5

Man, Spain was number 1 for how many consecutive years? They just dropped to 8 in a month.

fifa rankings are not the best rankings out there. The way that Spain played though doesn't make me feel bad that they dropped that low though. Lets see how they respond to that.

They aren't reliable no, but they do count for something come time for qualifying and World Cup draws, otherwise I don't think anyone would pay any attention to them.
