Carlos Boozer AND Kobe Bryant on the Lakers?
Talk about hateability.

Now all they have to do is talk Karl Malone and Roddy Piper out of retirement and start hitting people with chairs.

I think LA with Lin, Boozer and a possibly healthy Kobe makes the playoffs. Morey probably didn't even make a bid.

I think you're dramatically overrating both Kobe and Boozer.
We'll see how Lin does, but unless someone else has a career revival next year, that ain't happening.

The Pelicans seem probably most likely to knock someone out of the PO's, probably Memphis.
Lakers not so much.
Outside of Jordan Hill, the Lakers were pretty pathetic last year.

What're the odds it takes 50 wins to make the playoffs in the west in 2015?

They were tanking. Kobe was hurt. Nash was done. If they made the playoffs they would have lost their first rounder to Phoenix. They got a good young player in Julius Randle in the draft. add Boozer, Lin. Brought back Hill and Young. Lost Gasol but he wasn't doing much for them anyway.

They weren't tanking.
Nash is probably still done. Kobe is probably done. Boozer hasn't been good in years. Young is terrible. Randle is supposed to be worthwhile. Lin should be able to provide a lot more for them than he did for us.

That leaves Lin, Hill, and Randle as productive team members. I'm going to be surprised if they crack 30 wins.

I hope you are right abotu the lakers. However everyone said the same thing about Phoenix last year before the season and they almost made the playoffs.

Phoenix was surprising, but the biggest difference was that they actually had talent.
Lakers not so much, but we'll certainly see.

Lakers with healthy Kobe will have a shot at the 8th seed. Because Star Power (Bias Refs).

However, no one knows if Kobe is even healthy. Is he on minute restrictions? Can he play back to back?

Well, between Randle, Boozer, Lin and Bryant, this might be a weirdly functional team.

Lin, Marshall, Nash
Bryant, Nick Young, Jordan Clarkson
Jordan Hill, Ed Davis, Sacre
Randle, Boozer, Ryan Kelly

WAIT THEY DONT HAVE A SINGLE SMALL FORWARD? LULWUT?

I think they are also going for Deandre Kane as well. They're really, thin on the wings though...

Swaggy P is listed as G/F, he can play SF.

The Lakers has some crappy defense though. They need a stretch 4 and they need a defensive wing player.

Kobe is also suppose to spend some time playing the SF. Being old and to mirror old Jordan.

Maybe Clarkson can play some D at SG?

But we all know just by watching the Rockets that offense > defense in regular season. Lakers can get by on offense, as strange as their team is structurally.

The depth of the West is what could hurt the Lakers.

I don't know what Kobe's health status is, but after last season when he rushed back I am guessing that he may do so again.

If I'm LA I'd roll with Lin, Boozer & the rest for the early part of the season and then ease Kobe in.

It's kind of like the Batman/Bane fight in Dark Knight Rises. Kobe fights like a young man, but he's not that anymore. I hope that he doesn't end up in an underground prison with a broken back having to fight his way out...the NBA season isn't long enough for all of that to happen!

Like I said, Lakers would need the stars to align just to make the 8th seed in the west.

Boozer is a nice pick up for 3.25 mil though. Almost like a weird trade for Pau, but the Bulls pick up 12 mil of Boozer's salary. Very sneaky.

Good point. Got to give Kupchak some props on that one!

Dominique Wilkins came back from one and they said the same thing, he went on to average 30pts a game on his comeback. Or something like that, I heard his interview at the ESPYs.

It all really depends on Kobe, whom has gone on the record stating he has been 100% and is 100%.

Wrong. Nique only averaged 29.9ppg in his comeback season not 30.

Can't wait for the Houston media to ask Morey why he got rid of Lin again. He was pretty defensive about it the first time.

Lakers won Boozer for only 3.25 million? OMG what a steal. I voted for 5-6 million.
