Speaking of twitter searches. I just twitter searched Biyombo. Dang, people really cut him down on there.

There's also a dude on there saying he's been wearing Biyombo's jersey proudly for four years now.

My twitter chat with Zach Lowe (after his article on Stephenson) that ended with him not replying to my final question. Maybe the answer is still coming... Either way, much props to him getting into a small twitter conversation with me

Zach Lowe and Alex Kennedy are 2 of the only NBA reporters/writers that will directly respond to you

Zach Lowe has a ton sources around the league. For him to say he doesn't know one person who believes Biyombos age is extremely worrisome.

He probably has other, better things to do than to talk with me. However, if not replying to my last question was a real decision by Lowe it basically means that there are people in our FO who assume so and Lowe didn't really want to be the one to put it out there.

Matters a ton to me. Mainly on what he potentially could be as a player. Still has potential as a 21 year old. As a 25 year old hes not nearly as exciting of a prospect.

We also definitely don't draft him at 7 if he is 22 instead of 18 at the time either I don't believe.

Its just rumors though, so we will never know, but Lowe seems convinced and that definitely carries some weight.

Even if he's a couple years older, I'll only start caring if he stops developing, which clearly hasn't happened yet.

Yeah, the age might just be a number and might have no affect on his development at all.

But the draft pick we used on him matters. If he in fact is older and we had known it, we probably wouldn't have used our #7 pick on him. Chances are we wouldn't have had to give up Tobias Harris for him or maybe we could have drafted one of those interesting names from the 2011 draft that were selected after him.

My guess is it doesn't apply to charlotte so better not to answer than to lie or admit what he just said was a lie. I hear the rumors and you are going to hear the rumors about guys with his background. Looking at his brothers and where they are they seem to be the age they claim. They look on par with the guys they are playing against size and build wise. So either there is a very unusual gap between him and them or he is closer to 18 than 22 at the draft. He has also filed out similar to how you see big guys fill out over college careers so I think he would be on the lower end of the scale there.

Zach Lowe just lost some cool points from me. The value of his opinion lost some respect.

Why? Because he called a ~25 year old that can't catch and averaged a 3/5 last year a bust?

Also if our front office really believes he is older than he is and around 25 years old I don't expect him to be a Hornet after next year unless we can't find other options in FA or the draft.

I love Biz. His worth will show up this year in terms of rebounding and shot blocking. Basketball IQ needs work but, again with this team he is young. He needs confidence...that's all.

I dont believe the age rumours at all. He was tested by doctors in Spain when he was allegedly 16 and they concluded he was 16-17 at most. Also, Im pretty sure one of his parents is a diplomat or something to that effect. At the very least he was born into a respected and educated family (he speaks like 6 languages) and wasnt born in the jungle or something like people assume because he is from the Congo. Unless someone has some evidence other than that he looks older this should be regarded as nonsense. Otherwise, why arent we questioning Lebrons age? He looked 30 when he was 18.
