If so, that's a large overpay by the Suns.

If we got a team option in year 3 then maybe.

Young, oft injured and not worth anything near the max. Get off our nuts.

I'll say it again:

Start high, finish somewhere acceptable. They know they don't have all the leverage so they might as well go all in, no? It's highly unlikely he takes the QO and if another team offers a big deal, we match or S&T no matter what.

Rich Paul is doing what any agent would do: the best deal for his client is the best deal for him. The Suns are in the better position but Bledsoe's side is going to do the very best they can.

If he wants out he could say, "ok Mr. Sarver/Babby/McDonough etc - we'll go for the $12m per offer at four years, but we want that fourth year to be a player option." This would put pressure down the road (about two years) to trade Bledsoe because he could opt out after that 3rd year. If he is injured then he opts in for another year of big money. Of course, that's just one of the possibilities that could happen.

I do agree that you guys would be doing the same thing Bledsoe and his agent are doing. Let him test and see if he can get the max. If not, he'll settle. Calm down people.

I posted here under the influence once and was rightfully suspended. I dunno why the title hasn't gone away, but I kind of like it.

He could get that fixed, as it is a bug in the system, but he likes the status.

What about the fact that no one has offered them a max thus far (actually, no one has even sent an offer yet) and they are still sticking to their original demands?

lol ok

if it came down to it, would it be worth it to offer Bledsoe one year 12$ million, similar to what David Lee did with the Knicks in 2009?

No probably not at that point you just make him sign the QO, and he moves on next year.

Him and his agent are just making him look like an ass at this point. I don't blame him for wanting more but when the market dries up and obviously no one wants you, then to demand 5/80 makes you look like an ass.

It probably doesn't make other teams eager to clear cap space either for him. But Rich Paul only reps LeBron, and it isn't exactly hard to get him the max, so he really doesn't know what he's doing.

Ahh, I didn't know it worked that way! I thought the player had to accept the QO.
So, in the instance no one offers Bledsoe a contract sheet, and no trade is made, he can only play with the Suns next year whether it be a long term deal or the QO? It makes sense to me now otherwise RFO rights would be moot.

Nobody on this board is even close to McD thinking.

Isaiah Thomas
Anthony Tolliver
Tyler Ennis

Those moves way out in left field.
if Bledsoe is traded In S&T it will be a shock in what we get in return.

Also think suns have very little leverage in a S&T

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

It's up to the player to accept but they don't have to. They could go play overseas or sit out the season if there is a contract dispute, in which case they'll be paid nothing by the team. But we'll still own his RFA rights when he returns. However, if he doesn't want to sign with us long term but doesn't get the deal he wants with other teams, he will sign the QO so he can still play and then become a UFA after this season.

Ok, but the 5/80 deal was reported by Broussard, right? The same guy that 99% of this board just laughs at anytime he reports something. Now he mentions Bledsoe in one of his tweets and everyone suddenly believes it and acts like Bledsoe personally took a **** in their coffee.

It's a game of chicken. The Suns have offered a very fair $11 million per year. Bledsoe and his camp know this offer is going nowhere and are patiently waiting for another team to try to swoop in and offer up a higher offer so the Suns will be forced to match.

All is fine and well as long as Bledsoe doesn't pout about it next season if he loses (and takes $11 million over 4 seasons) or wins (gets a max offer and the Suns match).

Neither side has done anything wrong yet. The Suns offer is reasonable (they didn't lowball him), and Bledsoe's camp is still hoping to get a max offer from another team and hold the Suns hostage.
