What did he say in end? 11 out of something championship teams used the triangle. Now this is getting my hopes up.

Yea,Stat,Bargs, and JR couldn'tpossibly be dumber than these guys, could they?

This is so exciting! Guys don't even need to take more than one dribble unless it's a legitimate drive/dribble hand-off towards the basket. There will still be isolation plays but isos won't be the first option anymore. This is how we would look like by default most of the game.

The quick PnR action at the pinch post is also 8-) 8-) 8-)

I expect a lot of turnovers the first half of the season though, but after that the Knicks will be ok.

Great work man, as a student of the game, someone who has played the game, and coaches the game... I am into the different sets and flavors of the many "systems" this is a great video summary.

Just well done.

you can really see how we'd be better served getting 2-3 good players next off season instead of getting 1 "max" and maybe 1 good.

Great work...appreciate you putting int he time to create this video...

Melo is going to cook this year and Amar'e fits perfect into this style of movement he will get a lot of the 15-18 ft jumpers he was getting his first year with the Knicks.

Guys Amar'e is never going to learn this, if he thought learning defense principles was hard. Knicks should just buy him out.

I wish we had a Young Rasheed Wallace on this team.

Great for Melo, Bargs, Shumpert, JR, Calderon, Larkin, Prigioni, Aldrich

Good for Dalembert, Ellington, Thanasis, THJr, Tyler, Early

Worrisome for Stat

wow - this is amazing

hard work that really shows.

thank you!!!

Several interesting questions are raised

1} this seems to be the ultimate system for role players. as Phil has said it opens up play for guys who need some help. But also setting rules and behaviors is something lesser players are more willing to do. Question: will stars and people who think they are stars (Melo, Smith, Amare, THjr) stick to the system or think they are better than it? Im hopeful. Its good enough for 11 of the last 22 championship teams so ...

2} It seems to me that this might be the kind of system that excites everyone on the floor because everyone is involved, as if on a string connected to each other. So often in basketball people stand around and watch or feel uninvolved when they don't touch the ball. Our old Riley led knicks teams had 3 pass rules - can't shoot until 3 people touch the ball - and things like that to get everyone involved. Question: Does this team involvement lead to players feeling the need to shoot less as they are involved more in the offense / being more motivated on defense since they are involved more in the offense?

3} Systems and rules. A lot of people hate them. Players however often seem to love them. Technique is major. I wonder if the challenge and the system will be its own appeal to certain guys and they will throw themselves into the passing and moving side of the game even if it hasn't been their skill before. Question: Could Amare and Bargs really love this system even if it means more floor reading, passing, screening and cutting before they get a shot? In the past Amare would be frustrated if he didn't get plays called for him and Bargs often was asleep on the floor unless you force feed him into the offense early so he gets a little aggressive.

Cant wait to see this system implemented with the real guys.
It seems like a system built around creating chemistry as well

The real beauty of this system IMO is that everyone on the court needs to be engaged at all times. When you are active and involved and communicating on offense you tend be be involved and communicating on defense.

I also think Tyler makes the team. His passing is underrated. I also think Bargnani is going to look like a completely different player. It's going to be fun watching the Knicks again just to see them attempt to play basketball the right way.

Great video, OP. Thanks for sharing.

I'm very excited to see Melo in this system.

Awesome video. Thanks to the OP for putting that together.

I was in the "wins in summer league mean nothing in summer league" camp. I still stand by that statement, but it's been very encouraging to watch these games. If these fringe NBA players can learn a complicated, yet effective system like the triangle so quickly and have instant success, you have to feel good about our real team running it. Fisher also seems very confident as a coach already and I expected him to have some growing pains, even in the summer league.

Again, very cool video.

This vid brought me over... great work. Really like seeing good videos like that. Also really impressed with your young kids - helping each other out, communicating, getting into the right spots.

Melo is gonna look great in this offence, and I think Bargnani should get a chance to show his decent passing skills operating in the high post with cutters. Calderon on the second option pinch post , or the follow up P&R is a great way to use his shooting ability.

excellent break down.

as far as players that can benefit/not from it

ones that can benefit the most:
melo (if he buys fully into it, this is still to be seen), Bargnani, shump, calderon, prigioni, aldrich, THJr.
bargs potentially is the one who would make the biggest jump (also given how low he starts). He was brought up as a "system guy" and was supposed to be very BB smart (although some of his 'moves' last year kind of challenge this concept). i remain optimistic with him

should likely be good for for Smith, Dalembert, Ellington, Thanasis, Tyler, Early (

might problematic for Stat, unless he is 3 yrs ago stat

bad for: JR. I am afraid he lacks the discipline and possibly BBIQ for this. if he surprises me and learns it well, it could be fantastic with it, but his pro pension for hitting the weird shots and messing up the easy set ups does not make me very optimistic

i think JR gets dealt.
