This video is awesome, excellent work. I had a rudimentary understanding of the triangle and could see it being utilized in the Summer League games but this helped me really understand everything that was going on. I just hope all of our players buy into this because it's obviously a winning formula and the way it flows seems to create a lot of problems for opposing defenses.

OK - that was one of the best pieces of film I've ever seen on describing an offensive set.

The triangle has reached mystical preportions over the years but after watching that tape -- it's pretty simple / fundamental basketball with lots/lots of options depending on what D does or takes away.

thank you.

My God

We are going to feast in this system next year. It fits so many of our players (Melo, THJR, JR, Barg, Jose) perfectly

We need to go all out for Gasol in 2015 he is too perfect for this system.

This really shows what Phil means when he says the triangle is easy, BUT you need to be able to pass and read defenses. And everybody has to be engaged at all times.

This system, for as complicated as it appears to be is actually very good for 'dumber' players in the sense that it removes having to 'think' on the court, it;s more about reaction.

There are a series of options and the defense dictates which one is the open one, both with the ball and when a player is away from the ball.

The system requires players who learn those options, which is more of an practice skill, then be able to react on the court to the play action.

Obviously this requires a player to buy in to the system and not break plays out of selfishness or stubbornness.

I'm most impressed with how well Fish was able to teach these young players this system in such a short time and have them be able to execute it as well as they did.

It was also nice to see Fish's ability to make adjustments and the team perform better as the game went along and their schedule progressed.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

I just wanna say although I want him gone, Amare can def also be a monster in this offense as well as Melo. Amare is still one of the faster PFs and there are countless times in that video where the PF has the whole damn paint to himself.
Spacing is beautiful in that videos. No reason out player shouldn't be able to pick this up. This is a system and all they have to do if follow it and react. No more thinking, just do and react. Yes Melo will kill this playing at SF or PF.

And to think Melo almost passed in this offense like he wasn't about to go to the Bulls and do a million ISOs

Watching this brings me back to the 2012 1st round match between the Knicks and Heat. Lebron fronted Melo the whole time. And dumbass Baron Davis or whoever was running point would just try to heave it over Lebron.

I kept screaming to Woody to have Melo seal Lebron, Have STAT come up to the free throw line and have Melo cut to the basket simultaneously so STAT can pass it to Melo for an easy basket.

And they never did that for 5 straight games. It made me mad that the said Lebron can shut down Melo. I was like....NO the Knicks shut Melo down. I'm so glad that this offense is being implemented. I know our defense wasnt the greatest pass couple of years but I thought are offense was the biggest culprit. It was way too predictable and easy to defend and simple minded.

I love Amare as a person. I love his work ethic and his desire. I've never seen him ever do anything as a passer but as a cutter and finisher he has to be respected. It should be interesting.

hopefully it translates into the season. I'll not judge yet, I want to see stat passing the ball back, melo setting screens, JR cutting and attacking the basket first.

Did we already re-sign Jeremy Tyler?

Larkin, THjr, Early, Tyler, and Aldrich may see a lot of time on the floor together since they're ahead of the curve on everyone else in running the triangle and building chemistry early on.

Also, we may be forced to have Shannon Brown as the 15th guy on the roster just because he can help explain the triangle on the bus trips and flights to games.

The young guys have bought in. The important thing is Melo buys in. If he doesn't, we are kinda stuck.

Stat will feast on the 2nd option. His jumper is lethal from the free throw line extended. Can't wait.
