I'm good with either but I'm fine if we get love.

I am hoping that both GSW and CLE wait Minnesota out, and also that a defensive center becomes available.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

Re: Poll: Wiggins or No Wiggins
Salary stuff aside, in a best-case scenario, Wiggins turns into a Tracy McGrady-type player, right? T-Mac was a monster, but I wouldn't cry if I had traded him for Kevin Love. Especially since Love is 25-years-old.
Another thing, a lot of people focus on the three big contracts getting in the way of acquiring help, but the Big 3 in Miami also ended up creating problems because Wade and Bosh weren't contributing enough to justify their salary. When your Big 3 are 29, 25 and 22, that's a much better situation.

No way. We need a rim protector, not another 4.

Re: Poll: Wiggins or No Wiggins
From my vantage point, the best case for Wiggins with Cleveland is he develops into a top 4-10 player that is a perfect compliment to Lebron sort of like how Pippen was the perfect compliment to Jordan.
Wiggins has a chance to at least be a much better 3 point shooter than TMac and when playing with Lebron that is important. He has a chance to focus more of his energy on defense as well. Wiggins will probably never have TMac's dribbling/passing skills but with Lebron that is the skill the Cavs really don't need that much.
Paul Pierce, KG and RA complimented each other beautifully on both ends of the court.
Lebron really has not had great players as of yet who fit his game without really hurting their own games. Wade his first few years in Miami fit Lebron's game with his defense but his lack of 3 point shooting hurt. Ray Allen really fit Lebron's game but Lebron only played with old man Ray. But even then it was obvious to see how well they worked together.
Think of Wiggins as potentially the ultimate 3 and D player who just happens to be able to score 20-22 PPG instead of 12 since he can also drive to the basket/get to the line a lot/cut to the basket etc. and be the #1 option when Lebron is on the bench.
3 and D guys can be tremendously underrated. Danny Green completely outplayed Wade in the NBA finals.... Green can't dribble as well as Wiggins so he barely ever puts the ball on the ground but it didn't matter much in the SA system. Skill wise one would say Wade is the much better player but on the court Green was the much more valuable player in that series. He was one of SA's 3 key defenders.
That is realistically what the Cavs may be giving up by the end of just the 2016-17 season. And by the end of year 2, I think he will be valuable very valuable on offense as well.
On a different team like MN, I see Wiggins as a 25 PPG scorer who just isn't quite as consistent on defense since his scoring burden is higher.
I would bring in Ray Allen as well for a year and literally have Wiggins taking 500 3 balls a day and have him learn from Miller and possibly Ray Allen. If he does that even and respects Allen/Miller, I think those guys won't even be jealous losing minutes to him.
The things to keep in mind.
Wiggins 20.5 by next years playoffs -- young but it wouldn't be that far fetched for him to play a very important role on a team with Lebron James.
Wiggins 21.5 by 2016 playoffs -- would not be farfetched with great environment for him to be a star by playoff time.
Love in Cleveland probably goes from a top 10-12 player to a top 20-25 player since his game is just a good fit with Lebron like a Bosh and NOT a great fit like a younger Ray Allen would have been or a fully developed Wiggins might be.

I think it's a mistake letting Lebron dictate your future again. I wouldn't do it. Or not now at least. Either or I'd love Wiggins to be with Rubio. Just hope you're franchise thinks long term as well and not just short sighted.

So most voters here don't want Love? Or is that just in case Cleveland doesn't land Love, then you can say you never wanted him..?
How can you not want Kevin Love?
That is almost as absurd as Golden State refusing to give up Thompson for Love.

Well it's either that or they don't win a ring. Who else on the Cavs should anyone trust as far as knowing how to win an NBA championship?

I for one am firmly in the depends on the other pieces camp. There are decent trades that involve Wiggins going out and there are really bad ones that involve Wiggins going out.

It's not that I don't want love, it's that three max guys is so hard to sustain in the new cba. So there's crippling the team financially and then there's also the asking price of wiggins? At the moment, I pass. In February, I'll probably feel differently

Re: Poll: Wiggins or No Wiggins
I've written this before but it is worth writing again.
Since the 1990's till now there have only been 8 teams out of a possible 32 teams that have won a title. So in a 40 plus year time frame, 4 decades and counting, only 8 teams have won a championship.
Cleveland right now has the best player on the planet. Wiggins, as good as he might be, as good as he might become is not ready now. But the window of opportunity to win now is open you need to surround Lebron with everything possible to win now. LBJ has shown he can take a bunch of average players to the finals. Give him a good supporting cast and it's very likely that he will win at least one championship for your city. Or is keeping Wiggins more important?

You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

Time for Cavs to get up from the table
I know its "sources" but I find this to be plausible.

If Flip is balking at Wiggins, Bennett and a No. 1, just shut down the negotiations and walks away from the table.

Still doesn't make sense. The salaries don't add up. There has to be more involved

If Flip is playing hard to get, just stop talking to him. It is that easy!

The salaries work.

Per CBA, salaries don't have to match perfectly. Believe the threshold is within 25%.
As such, the Cavs have to send back around $10.5 million, which Wiggins at 120% the cap hold ($5.5 mil) and Bennett ($5.5 mil) do.
Bend the knee.
