And on top of that we give a 1st? picks are valuable with this CBA, you don't waste them to get rid of insignificant salaries.
Good points, I actually would try and get Phoenix's 27th pick from them if possible.

Maybe Sarver accepts cash for it like he used to?

Well that sucks, but clearly understandable, our window for Afflalo died.

Grizzlies, I'm told, have swatted down Clippers' attempt to trade for defensive ace Tony Allen

To be honest I don't remember reading one update on interest in Marion from any team as of yet. I'm sure the signings will start firing off after Bron and Melo agree.

Any interest in moving Dudley to get under the luxury tax?

Lakers have enough in the two salaries of Marshall (.9 non-guaranteed) and Sacre (.9) and cap space left to absorb Dudley, and they need a SF as Young is their only one to date. Keep Sacre in the Hollins role and waive Marshall gives Clippers 3.35 mil in savings getting them under the tax line by a mill plus. Also shed the second year left on Dudley.
Any interest?

I'd love nothing more than to be rid of Dudley.
Unfortunately it looks like we're going to have to hope he returns to pre 2013-14 Dudley bc we're really out of money to improve the SF spot

If the Clippers trade Dudley without bringing in another SF, then the team actually will have only on real SF on the roster with Bullock being borderline at the position. Not sure if it is something that would be done unless that is remedied.

Also Dudley is more likely to be better than worse, he's not a bad player if he's actually playing up to his par.

I noticed the kings are willing to part ways with Derrick Williams. Anyone else think that he would be a good fit? Would love to make an offer for Josh Smith as well even though he may require us to give up a fair bit of assets.

Derrick Williams isn't very good.

Josh Smith might be one of the worst fits we could find for this team, don't you think?

I realise the fit isn't perfect but since none of our wing players can hit 3s either, we may as well have a SF that can post up. I do believe that Josh Smith will flourish being the 3rd scorer on a team.

We'd be paying $14M a year for a guy who doesn't fit well next to our best players and doing it for 3 more seasons. Seems like a pretty bad move. Smith looks like he's actually best at PF, not SF. At SF, he's a terrible floor spacer, and his man defense isn't the best at SF either.

The problem you have is that he won't be posting up at SF, he will be shooting and missing three's and long mid-range shots, and even if you wanted to use him in the post-up role, how will you facilitate proper spacing if you want him and Blake to be posting up alongside a C who doesn't play outside the paint? I don't know, seems like a pretty bad move as a GM to lock yourself long term into a big contract like that for a guy who does not even compliment your best players.

...not to mention he's a 52-53% FT shooter over the last two seasons. So many negatives including contract size and length, and seems like very few positives.

There's a reason the Smith/Monroe/Drummond front-court struggled for Detroit

Lakers just cut Kendall Marshall. I'd take him as our 3rd point guard any day

he will be a great value for the kings, as Cousins and Smith can play the DJ/Blake role we have here with Rudy Gay spreading the floor and locking up the opposing wing. Smith as a wing for us? we will run out of real state in the paint. if smith is posting up, who spaces the floor between DJ and Blake? all 3 interior players will collapse onto whoever is posting up in our uniform.

even if he goes to the kings and yes he is a good fit there as a PF, I wouldn't worry about the kings anytime soon. I can't see a team led by Collison and Boogie going anywhere.
ehhhhh f it.
