Every single one of those guys played over ten years in this league.
Flaming out isn't the word I'd use necessarily.

Here's hoping.
I'm higher on Lance than most, but I think he will lead the team in minutes played, and be the primary ball handler, meaning he'll at least get the ball once for every trip we run down the floor. He'll also be with the 2nd unit when Kemba is out, and Kemba will sub in for him and Henderson will be more a backup SF. I think we are in for a special season from him.

Grats from a pacers fan on getting Lance guys, I think you guys should finish about 4th in the East this season. Good luck!

Re: Hornets Sign Lance Stephenson 3y/27.5 mil (p67)
Growing up, before I settled on a team (the Spurs) I just loved the Hornets; their colours, their charismatic players in LJ, Zo and Mugsy, their court, everything. I mainly became a Spurs fan because of David Robinson, and then the rest grew on me from there. That's why it's been so hard watching the Lolcats/Hornets in recent years. I almost never agree with the moves they make, and I hate being proved right, whether it's poor draft picks or bad roster management. That's why I'm so glad to see this signing happen. There's really no way it can backfire. The Hornets weren't going to get a better free agents, so the money hasn't been wasted, and it's a short and reasonable contract. On the upside, Lance should come in hungry to earn his new contract, and there's a very real chance he becomes a repeat all-star for you. With any luck he can become one of the new, charismatic winners on the now returned Hornets. It looks to me like a playoff spot is pretty safe now, which is great. If one of Zeller or Vonleh can just pan out into an all-star you'll be set.

Not trying to troll, but don't jinx yourself. Lance can poison a locker room and it can back fire that way.

And if he does, this time next year he'll be an expiring contract. We'll be OK regardless.

Hornets were on the outside looking in for the playoffs, so if he poisons the locker room all he'll do is ensure a better lotto pick than they would have had. Win win.

With the other teams improvements I felt like the Hornets were going to fall out next season. Now I don't.

I think he will be a good player for you guys but the most important thing is to make sure that him and your 1st round rookie PJ Hairston don't become best friends cause then things will go south.
Stephenson may go back to his "throwing his GF down a block of stairs and smashing her head into the stairs" ways.

Re: Hornets Sign Lance Stephenson 3y/27.5 mil (p67)
I think its funny in general how Pacers fans were begging him to sign back with them three or four days ago and now losing him is no big deal and "that is the way Lance always acts" are just some of their snobbish comments. I hope they enjoy being a 6 or 7, seed this coming season.

Yeh, it's typical of fans though. It reminds me of that Simpsons episode with the lemon tree...
"And with that, a great cheer went up for the heroes of Indiana. They had gotten rid of the cursed Lance Stephenson... because he was haunted. Now let's all enjoy a nice glass of Rodney Stuckey."

Re: Hornets Sign Lance Stephenson 3y/27.5 mil (p67)
Glad to read those comments from Lance about feeling welcome. I know it could all just be PR posturing but I think it could also really go a long way toward keeping his attitude focused in a positive direction. I've made the comparison before, but I think he can be our Z-Bo in this respect.
Zach Randolph was considered something of a locker room cancer when he left the Knicks, a loose cannon who wanted so bad to be a star that he chucked bad shots and made selfish decisions. The Grizz were universally mocked for trading for his contract. But the city of Memphis embraced Z-Bo, they didn't hold any previous baggage against him, and he went on to thrive for that team. He played more in control because the fans didn't blame every little problem on him anymore and he didn't need to rebel against this perception. I believe if Charlotte fans embrace Lance the same way he will show us his best side. We shall see, but I feel like it's 70/30 this move works out very well for both sides. Charlotte gets their upgrade at the 2, Lance gets to be a big dog on a winning team and enjoy the praise that comes along with it.

Hope all the questions from the media about "antics" are over. This man is ready to start a new chapter. Wish I could meet him and welcome him personally. I think he and Kemba could form one fantastic backcourt in the league.
GREAT TO HAVE YOU LANCE. WELCOME TO YOUR NEW HOME!!
