Couldn't you guys make a move for Jsmoove

Williams + Hendo + Neal

Josh Smith is awful and has 0 BBIQ.

Marvin- 36%
Hairston- 36% in D-League

Basically, a bunch of average shooters and 2 above average shooters, i would trade for another average shooter in Barnes or McLemore, we need a sharpshooter

CDR!!! 39% Tolliver!!! 41%. But we don't want them back.

Yea, i would take either one of them over Jeff, he has a horrible year, it wouldn't surprise me if we release JT at some point during the season and get CDR from the D-League again (assuming he doesn't get signed)

We should've cut Taylor before his contract was guaranteed but kept him around to see if he still got it come training camp to see if he could make the 15-man roster.

It's obvious he's aware of the need but he hasn't been able to do anything and he should go on record and acknowledge he still has work to do. Now maybe he doesn't do it now but he definitely has work to do. I'd like to see Afflalo at the deadline or Harrison Barnes/Ben McLemore before the season.

McLemore is hot garbage. Hardly a threat at anything other than dunking a basketball.

But he is a top ten pick like our PFs. We could just roll him out there like them.

Barnes has potential to be a better 3-pt shooter than anyone in our core. So you have to add someone like that. Afflalo is a better 3-pt shooter than anyone on our team.

The fact remains we need to target 3-pt shooting now and for the future whether you want to play the angle of production or upside.

Cho's work is unfinished.

I'd rather go after Jeff Green with that package, but if (that's a BIG "if") Clifford thinks he can get through to Smith and tell him that he's benched every time he shoots an ill-advised 3, then I think Smith's defense and passing ability would be very valuable here.

We need to move Hendo and Neal for a good PF ASAP. I am more than confident that PJ can come in and handle the backup SG spot. WHY MCROBERTS WHY?????

I agree but I am not sure they alone can bring in a starter better than the one we have in Williams.

It sounds like, from interviews with ewing/Clifford/Zeller, they are pushing Zeller to be a starter. So in my opinion Williams will start for the first third of the seadon and then Cody will take over. Thatscif he steadily improves like the coaching staff wants

They spent a high draft pick on him so I am sure they want him to start. Problem is he lost his battle last year as a back up against back ups. Hopefully he comes around but I am not sure even if he gets to a starter level he is a good fit with Al. If we want to win this year we should really find a vet starter upgrade at the 4. We have a small window with Al so we need a good starter at the 4 to round out our lineup.

Last years draft class was god awful theres only like 3 teams that actually have expectations from the guys they drafted.

I am sure Cleveland, Sacramento, Washington and Philly all have expectations at least.

You're delirious if you think he's going to do a presser after the best off season in franchise history so he can point out how he didn't accomplish all his objectives.

Do you want him to apologize or something? Why would he "go on record and acknowledge he has work to do," especially since, as you said, it's obvious that he's aware.

He's actually a 1980s SF trapped in a SG's body.

Barnes as in Harrison ain't no 3 point shooter. He's a solid midrange shooter that try to shoot 3s and he can only make them at a half decent rate when he's wide open as a stretch 4. Barnes is a super bust in the making. I'd put him in Brandon Rush category as a comparison but Rush might be a little better even after the injuries.

Based on what I was thinking you would do Taylor + Hendo + Neal for Smith

You don't have to worry about him 3s.
C Al / Zeller / Biyumbo
PF Smith / Williams / Vonieh
SF MKG /
SG Stephnson /
PG Walker / Pargo

You will run Smith as his natural position at PF

People saying they wouldn't want Josh Smith for something like Zeller and Hendo have to have like the shortest memories ever. We would almost undoubtedly have the best defense in the NBA with him and he fits perfectly next to Al with the exception of not being quite as good at shooting from the outside as we want generally at least want. He can knock them down from time to time to keep defenses honest even though he isn't very good at them. I would not even hesitate to trade Zeller/Hendo/Neal and 1st round pick for Smith. The only risk would be his locker room presence since we just signed Lance but as far as on the court he would great.

   Josh Smith...NO COMMENT :noway: All this talk about Zellar starting? Unless he develops one hellava outside shot from the 3 line,I think he will be packaged with Hendo or Neal or Jt on a trade for a 3.
Williams will be our starter at 4 along with Al at 5 (both Utah), MKG at 3 ,Lance 2 ,and Kemba at the point.
That should raise our point total first team. The second team is the question mark?
Assuming we trade Hendo,Neal,Zellar,Biz and or JT, That leaves Vonleh at 4 and PJ at 2 and Roberts at PG..
If we trade Neal and JT to LAC for Dudley at(3) and then If we trade Henderson and Zellar2015 1st to NYK for Bargnani(PF)expiring contract, we would have room to sign Josh Davis as a third (SF). Our point production second team goes up dramatically. In 2015 we sign FA Center with Bargnani's expiring. AND BIZ's(RFA) and MKG's (TO)
Kw,Roberts,Pargo
Lance,PJ,(or sign CDR or use KW/ Roberts together on floor.)
DudleyMKG,Davis
Williams,Bargnani,Vonleh
Al Biz, (Rotate Bargnani/Vonleh at 5 or Sign FA SL Center to this season only)

Return to Charlotte Hornets
