So the Lakers had to waive him I think because of signing Boozer and to re-sign Ryan Kelly
He was making a nonguaranteed 900k, and the Lakers want to bring him back if he clears waivers.

Good: He averaged 8.8 assists vs 2.8 turnovers for a 3.14 ATO ratio
Good: He shot 40% on three pointers on 3.3 attempts per game
Good: He is 6'4" and 195lbs so has better size than Beverley, Canaan

Bad: He only shot 41% on 2 point attempts
Bad: He shot only 53% on free throws
Bad: His defense is not the greatest

Rockets should try to claim him. It would balance out the Lin trade a little (and help Lin get more minutes in LA too)
Rockets want their point guards to shoot 3's not 2's anyway.

He's better than Ish Smith , who is a career 22% three point shooter.

Funny thing is he looks exactly like an ex mod on here I'm friends with I mean almost a dead ringer

wouldnt mind him, but some team like the bucks will probably bid on him.

Take his assist numbers with a grain of salt as he played under D'Antoni's system. Don't get me wrong though he's still a good passer, but that's really the only thing he's good at. He's quite the poor defender and I don't see that 3pt % holding up with his funky shot mechanics.

Morey said he prefers "scoring" guards to "passing" guards. He said that he likes guards that can be offensive threats to draw attention from the defense. So you either need to be a penetrator or a good 3pt shooter. He said he'd take an all-star regardless of which style they played (like a passer like Rondo/Rubio), but that his preference is for a offensive threat who can score (like Rose/Westbrook) instead of a pure passer.

I think that's part of why he was very guarded when it came to Machado (beyond the concerns about the weaker conference competition that Machado played in). I remember he ran into a fan who was raving about Machado's assists numbers in college, and Morey cautioned the fan to restrain his optimism, because it might not work out.

That's why he was happier with drafting guys who can shoot the ball and get buckets like Canaan. Rather than undrafted guys like Machado whose claim to fame was passing and not much scoring ability (in addition to the presumed quality difference between 2nd rounders and undrafted guys).

The new hand-check rules greatly opened up the floor for scoring points like Rose instead of pass first points like Rubio. If your calling card is passing and an inability to score/shoot, than you better be elite at passing and able to contribute in other areas like defense (which Marshall can't do).

Given the astounding defensive deficit of Harden, it's not a good idea to put a weak defender like Marshall next to him in the backcourt.

Marshall is a good 3 point shooter, especially from the wings where a PG should be (not just from one corner like Bev)
Anyways, Milwaukee got him so it's moot.

Someone to place a ladder there to defend him. lol

Drexler guaranteed that Bev would shoot 40% from 3s by the end of the season too. Oh well...

Machado was terrible in recent Summer League. He had string of games with 5 TO and less than 1 ppg. We know that no one assists in SL, but this year killed Machado's chances in the NBA.

Also, guys like Machado played a ton in the D-league and it's shocking how badly he choked in SL.
