Deveney's article was informative and entirely sensible. I feel like Monroe and Bledsoe will both be signed somewhere by the end of the month.

I guess it says "reportedly". Figured they would have the best sources.

For all the Bledsoe conspiracy theorists, Hornacek just referred to "Goran and Eric and Isaiah" in the future tense of #Suns plans.

Except that he said the Suns and Hawks hold all the cards with Bledsoe and Monroe. Twice.

You mean he mixed up the Hawks and Pistons? I think he was saying the Hawks have the space to give either player an offer sheet.

Anyone else watch the press conference? I found it interesting that McDonough seemed to get a little frustrated when a reporter asked about Channing Frye. He did a good job of deflecting the question, but it looked like he didn't enjoy hearing that name. Also, earlier he had talked about guys going out and playing basketball and not worrying about their own numbers or upcoming contract. I couldn't tell if that was a general statement or a jab at Frye and possibly Bledsoe. And speaking of Bledsoe, Babby sounded a little irritated when his name was brought up. He first responded with, "Who?" and then proceeded to quickly say that they continue to hope and expect Eric remains a part of the Suns.

Other than that, I liked what I heard from Thomas and Tolliver. I think they'll fit in well and exceed expectations the fans might have for them. There was a very awkward moment when they were asked what they hope to improve on going into next season. While Thomas was responding, Hornacek whispered into the mic repeatedly, "defense, defense, defense". Thomas looked a little irked by that comment and didn't acknowledge it. When Tolliver was responding, Hornacek whispered, "rebounding, rebounding, rebounding". Again, Tolliver didn't seem to appreciate that and didn't really mentioned it (though he did say he wanted to work on his defense).

@paulcoro: Lon Babby on negotiations with Eric Bledsoe: "We continue to hope and expect that he will remain in a #Suns uniform."

I think it was, "Goran and Eric and Isaiah will have some great battles when we play the Lakers next season" :)

Behind the idea of Monroe. Maybe not Max but something creative to entice em not to match or S/T. DO IT.

I had always thought Bledsoe was aloof to coming here and while here. **** him. If he takes QO, deal him anyway. S/T if he's about to sign a sheet for right price and match if you don't get what you want ala Randle or like. Deal him later.

It definitely seems they didn't end on good terms, which is too bad. The Suns official account tweets about 17000 times per day and to my knowledge they didn't acknowledge Frye leaving once. Didn't even retweet his goodbye/thanks tweet to the fans. The Kings even gave IT a nice thank you tweet even though they didn't seem to be on great terms.

Even if it was in humor, I don't like that Hornacek did that. I'm sure both guys know their issues...no need to put it out there FOR THEM just to get a laugh.

Something just doesn't seem right this offseason. The picks seemed questionable at the time. We struck out mostly in free agency. Maybe I'll feel better if Bledsoe signs for a reasonable deal but it seems we may have taken a step backward.

We struck out in free agency? You mean we didn't sign the best basketball player in the world who had no intentions of coming here in the first place... We also promised Warren we would take him at least a week before the draft, doesn't sound too questionable to me.

This is interesting. These guys are being brought in to fill a specific role - defense, rebounding, etc. and a coach can't put the challenge out there? Granted he did it as a joke but even then why shouldn't he have?

We made it pretty clear last year that no matter who you are, you can get minutes by playing hard and addressing a need.

These athletes get babied too much.. you're making millions to go out there and play a game. If the coach thinks you need to work on defense you work on defense. Simple as that. Improve in what the coach is asking for = you see playing time.

Lawd knows if you had a coach that actually called Amare out on his defense... maybe just maybe Amare would have tried to improve. I don't ever recall Mike D doing that.
