So Bledsoe doesn't want to play here? Or he just wants money and he doesn't matter which team he plays?

It sounds like he pretty much doesnt care, as long as he gets that big paycheck.

Thats how most young athletes are. After they bank millions upon millions upon millions is when they are less concerned with the cars and the girls that comes with the money and start looking towards their actual basketball legacy and being a "real" winner.

There are some athletes that are ahead of the game, but most arnt. Honestly, if i were in the same situation where i could make $10M on a contending team or $16M on a lotto team, i would take the $16M until my bank account looked good enough.

Yup.
Robinson is my favourite player ever (but always wanted him on the Suns), so I paid attention to a lot of stories about him.

Robinson took on Duncan as an apprentice... Imagine playon defense and offense against Robinson every practice and getting sound advice.

Then you factor in Popovic to give him additional Basketball IQ...

Len unfortunately is playing for a guard biased coach... He will take a while... By the way..Who is the suns big man coach? Should be sending Len to Hakeem the whole summer.

RoLo showed it in his second year until he got hurt. Len could break out this year or next ... if it wasn't until 2019 he would be a labelled a bust.

Big men in general takes longer to develop. Also those big men you've listed are once in a decade big men (TD/Shaq/KG are anyway), they are the exception.

I agree big men can take longer to develop. However Kerrsed stated "ALL BIGMEN" take longer to develop. I happened to point out this statement was false and provided some examples of bigs who contribute immediately. The original poster said Len wouldn't be any good until 2019 ... five years from now. That's such a ridiculous statement. We will know if Len is going to pan out well before 2019. I'd say by late 2015, the beginning of his third year.

It might take him 4-5 years to be a great player but if he's not consistently making a positive impact within two years it spells trouble. First step is getting on the court for a significant period of time. It would be a bonus for Len to be a Lopez-caliber player next year.

This is correct. Len better show some significant progress before late 2015.

A few around here have intimated there's nothing to the Bledsoe rumors. I just don't think that's accurate. Coro said it would take a hefty package for us to give up Bledsoe. As I think is fairly well accepted by now, Paul doesn't print things that are not in the Suns best interests. So, we're saying we prefer and expect to have him, that we're very reluctant to S&T. But it doesn't look like Bledsoe's eager to come back. Other teams know how valuable he is, and if they're willing to pay the price, must know they have an opportunity to grab him.

I think there's something to the Lakers story in particular. A lot coming out from the HuffPo guy (fwiw), and from a basketball standpoint it makes sense. Lakers have Kobe Bryant, and must want to win now. Randle will not help them this year, and at best he'll be mediocre, maybe above-average next season. Bledsoe would elevate them, possibly above us, making the pick we own worth less. Bledsoe loves LA. I think there's something to it. But it makes sense for us to stick to our guns.

Nobody's lying in this scenario, I just happen to think it makes sense that we are in fact truly considering Bledsoe deals, but that we expect the sort of value that would come our way if he were fully under contract, because, given his contract situation, he effectively is. All that said, for Bledsoe's team, I can't imagine there are many places other than LA he'd like to go, so if they don't pony up, I of course believe we will keep him, because we are a much better team with him than without.

Len already has shown meaningful progress, IMO, in terms of his strength and confidence. I believe he'll be a quality NBA player. But he should still add another 15 pounds, and he's yet to have that J of his work in-game. He hasn't really had the opportunity to show progress, and we haven't had the opportunity to see it. But I think we'll get a whole lot of positive indications from him this year. Ideally, he'll show enough this year that we'll feel confident about moving Plumlee before the expiration of his rookie contract, because Plumlee is certainly an NBA starter. I feel very good about the whole situation.

I'd love Len to work with Ilgauskas - I think he's more athletic than Z obviously, but he's similar size/frame and he needs to work on fundamentals like FTs and hitting a 12-15 feet jumper - that sort of stuff will be there when you're older, like Z was. Z was money from mid-range and basically just camped under the hoop for offensive rebounds cos he was 270lb.

Every time I see Noel rise up for a swat I sigh a little. PERFECT C for this team...ah well. Len has the potential to be a much better scorer and rebounder than him though, though Noel's already going to be a monster with steals, deflections and blocks.

Totally agree he needs to add 15lb of muscle - there aren't many 7'1" 270lb guys in the league, especially mobile ones who can jump a bit too. And are just 21!

I agree with a lot of this, but I don't get very jealous of the Sixers for Noel. Obviously, I love the steals and blocks, as he's exceptionally disruptive on the P&R, the most common play in basketball. But I think he's better suited to the 4 because he doesn't really belong under the basket banging with bigs IMO. He has a really thin frame which I think will always make him prone to injury. Already blown out his knee twice, and the Sixers were very cautious with him in SL. Second, there are rumblings that he's an idiot - he's had a paternity suit filed on him already, and word was around draft that he had a ton of hangers-on. On balance, I'll take Alex. But as I've mentioned ad nauseum, I'm not so sure I'd take Alex over Rudy Gobert.

It's fun to have these sorts of discussions speculating about the future because it tests one's ability to forecast, and forces one to develop one's perspective by having to eat crow. I thought the SL was highly predictive before last year, when I tried to use SL performances to forecast regular season results. Learned my lesson (kinda). :)
