OT: Kevin Love, would you rather...

Post#1 » by Ghost » Wed Jul 23, 2014 5:10 pm

If you were Kevin Love would you rather:

Live in Cleveland, but get to play with Lebron and Kyrie

or

Live in Chicago, and get to play with Noah and Rose?

Much rather live in Chicago but Cleveland is the best place for him if he wants to win

Or live in Detroit, alongside Andre Drummond, sans Greg Monroe and Josh Smith via brainwashing. I don't see that option.

Chicago doesn't have the assets to get Love unless Noah was offered, and he ain't being offered AFAIK.

I would prefer Chicago solely for Noah. He's someone who would make up for my defensive liabilities unlike Varejao.

Cleveland, playing alongside the best player of the moment......
Also a bigger chance to win a Chip i think.......

I'd go to Chicago, better place to live, and assuming Rose ever gets healthy, could be a better situation for him with an elite point guard, and elite defensive center.

Considering what happened with Bosh in MIA, I'd be terrified I'd be turned into a spot up 3 pt shooter.

I thought the question was where would I want him to go to. So I chose Cleveland lol. The difference on the court isn't the talent, it's the coaching. I know Thib will destroy the East with the best frontcourt. They'd hurt more than having Rose before his injury. So I'd rather Love go to Cleveland. Also, if Love comes to the East, we're going to have a problem. I think Stan should look into paying Monroe a little more to keep up with the talent rising in the East.

Golden State... we don't need another superstar in the East not on the Pistons...

Chicago, IF Rose is healthy and can get back to being his old MVP self. I think he'd get more respect winning in Chicago than chasing LeBron to Cleveland, even IF Chicago has a deeper roster. But I don't think Chicago has the pieces to get it done without wrecking their roster.

Chicago >>>>> Cleveland

injured Rose <<<< LeBron

Noah ~ Irving (currently)

I really hope we look into offering Monroe+ for Love.

Noah >>> Irving

Noah just won DPOTY and is arguably the best center in the league.

I'd take Chicago. I don't know where Cleveland is going to find a rim protector, especially if they fire their gun to get Love.

Irving
Waiters/Martin
James/Miller
Love/Thompson
Varejao

That's a heck of an offensive lineup, but it's going to take a super hero effort from Lebron and health Varejao hasn't shown in years to not be an awful defensive team.

Rose/Hinrich
Martin/Snell
Butler
Love
Noah/Gasol

That's more balanced, especially considering Thibs defensive accumen.

Cleveland. I'd be far more concerned with my basketball situation. Players "live" in that town for half the NBA season. The rest, they are on the road and go where they like for the summer. You've got your whole post-retirement life (mid thirties) to live where you like.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Chicago obviously

they have better defense...

Thibodeau - Noah - Butler

Cleveland's big 3 would really be a big 2 because Neither Kyrie or Love are a defensive advantage.
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!
