KCP's midrange and ability to draw fouls is going to be huge for the SG spot.

Along with his stellar defense, I think KCP can show up for SVG. Meeks, however, will likely start due to experience and the 3 ball.

Off the bat, Meeks, but i am hopeful KCP shows enough to take the spot.
Both will get big minutes. im excited to see Meeks and KCP this season. I think that duo will do damage this year.

Assuming he's healthy, it has to be Meeks. We need perimeter shooting in the worst kind of way.

It could go either way, KCP for defense or Meeks for shooting. Whoever it is we will have a good player coming off the bench at shooting guard.

KCP for the first couple weeks, if he is consistent give it to him

Whoever wins it during exhibition. I lean towards KCP for his D, but he has to earn it.

It's a shooter's league, and we didn't pay Meeks 19M to sit on the bench.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

It's wide open. I'd give Meeks the nod due to experience at this point. He's more steady and predictable, which are important traits as SVG tries to establish an identity. KCP could certainly win it with his all out hustle, but I suspect he'll be pressing a bit trying to prove himself and end up making some youthful mistakes. That is just part of the process for young guys, but it's something that usually keeps them in bench roles as they work through it.

if i'm SVG, i'd focus on defense with the first string assuming monroe will be starting next to drummond. then i'd put all my good shooters with smith, and let him take over the 2nd unit by attacking the defense and finding the open shooters.

that being said, i hope KCP wins the spot, but he's gonna have to earn it.

I agree 100% with this philosophy. I don't necessarily care if the KCP/Moose or Smoove/Meeks combo starts, but I hope SVG plans to play Augustin and Meeks a lot with Smoove. There were times last year that Smith was arguably the best late-in-clock shooter on the floor (scary to think about). I think surrounding him with shooters is a great way to help eliminate his temptation to drift.
