I don't think that's true...

Sources told ESPN.com that USAB has wanted Wall in camp for weeks and merely wanted to make sure that the Wizards' All-Star was able to play at full capacity after a longer-than-expected season before making it official.

Seeing a healthy Rose playing with Team USA would be a really nice (late) Eid present

Since this thread is getting me hyped to see DRose in action again, figured I'd re-share this video that arjay702 and I worked on a while back.

Don't forget about Westbrook being out also. That probably played a role in his invite.

Great news for one of Drummon/Faried (still don't see both of them making it).

TBH, both Love and Blake dropping out makes it easier for Coach K to do what he does: play small and only take 3 big men.

Durant will likely start at the 4, Paul George at the 3. I THINK it'd be best to do Lillard/Rose/Wall starting at PG and Steph at 2, but Harden will probably get the call at 2 and Steph at 1.

Still, only think he'll take 3 "bigs" and it will likely be Davis (of course the starting C), Cousins, and Drummond. You really only need that 3rd big man against Spain (the Gasols and Ibaka), so you want him to be the most imposing big you have to chose from (imo Drummond over the Manimal).

Rose / Steph / Lillard / Wall ... (Wall and Steph can get bulk of their minutes at the 2)
Harden / Thompson ... (Thompson and Korver can play both wings)
George / Korver
Durant ... (Geroge in back-up small-ball min. and Davis/Drummond can both play big-lineup min here)
Davis / Cousins / Drummond

Now that Blake and Love are gone, Taj would make this team. Too bad he has not yet been invited. Saw that Swirsky is tweeting about adding Taj - good for Swirsk.

I would have liked couple of those PGs withdrawing than those bigs (Love/Blake).

Oh well. I really hope Rose makes it. It would really hurt us all with no Melo and now no Rose on team USA.

That would make a very miserable rest of the summer until like preseason.

Hope Basketball gods don't do this to us. We already had last 3 miserable years.

Many fans seem to think Kobe and/or Wade will have better years than Derrick Rose.

Sad. Hope Derrick is ready to make a big impression at Team USA.

I think those bigs dropping makes it harder for Rose to make the team, especially Love.

Now maybe Coach K feels the need to take more size and shooting, neither of which Derrick provides.

Let's say Derrick don't makes a team.

Is this is going to be his motivation going into the season? Is he going to be like: 'oh, John Wall over me? Watch this!' or is he going to be like 'man I'm tired'?

There are as many mental questions about Derrick as there are physical ones.

For me there are zero mental questions about Derrick. We know exactly what he is. He's a Thibs on the court, a guy whose only passion is basketball, who doesn't care to recruit, and who's never going to lose for lack of trying.

Personally, I'm just as excited to see McD and Butler scrimmage with these guys. Let's see if Butler has improved his shot, and let's see if McD can guard anyone.

He'll always have that in him. It's why I still believe that he'll never be less than great for an entire season. He doesn't settle for less and that's what makes the best the best. He has the Kobe/MJ mentality that's rare to find.
LeBron has a 17.8% field goal percentage and a 12.5% 3-point percentage in clutch situations, and also made 20 of 116 game winning/tying shots in 4th/OT during his career

So, let me get this straight. On Tuesday, we're going to turn on nbatv and we're going to see Derrick Rose playing basketball, is this what I'm supposed to believe? Please tell me this is really going to happen, please!

It's not really clear whether we'll be seeing actual 5v5 practice or just footage of drills, along with interviews and commentary. They'll be showing a scrimmage on Friday night though.
