For me at least he's sort of in the same vein as Carmelo Anthony. He's a bit of a volume shooter. I'm not impressed with Melo and don't really see him as the guy you build around to win a championship.
However, in Kyrie's case it's a little different since LeBron is coming in. He might be great in the Robin role to LeBron's Batman. But Kyrie's getting paid like Batman...
Melo has career averages of 46% percent from the field 35% from three 81% percent from the line. He scores from the post, off spot ups, off the dribble, by penetrating the lane, from three, in half court and on the break. He is the most versatile scorer in the league. If the Pistons selected him instead of Darko, we would have potentially won several titles.
If you build a team worth a crap around Melo, you've got a pretty deadly team. I certainly wish we had him all these years.
