Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if Reimold is already considered the 2015 LF, assuming Rogers continues to not spend anymore or spend way less next year.
I definitely read somewhere over the last few weeks that AA acquired Reimold partially with 2015 in mind and that they looked at him as a potential starter. With Rogers' financial issues surrounding this team, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him in LF next year (which I wouldn't have a major problem with, as long as there is a legitimate major league backup outfielder on the roster) and Gose in CF (which I would, not that there's really any other alternatives outside of a trade).
One flew east, one flew west, one flew over the cuckoo’s nest.

Speaking of random outfielders, what the heck happened to Cole Gillespie?

Still receiving a major league paycheck on the DL.

Michael Bradley wrote:Gose is a replacement for Rasmus because he's a CF, already in the organization, and makes nothing for three more years. That's basically it. Outside of Pompey being fast tracked to AAA by season's end, the Jays really have no one else that is even close.
I wonder if signing Rasmus cheaply for one year (not the QO) to recoup his value for the 2016 off-season is possible. This is one time the Jays may have some attractiveness since they play in a HR hitting park and Rasmus has already had some success there. I doubt he gets the long-term big money deal he desires after an injury riddled season where his numbers are down. Might be beneficial for him to take the one year deal with the Jays, but again, it comes down to money. I doubt the Jays will give him the QO on the really good chance he accepts it.
Melky will be tougher to bring back, and as mentioned, he's still young enough to get 5 years depending on how highly teams think of him.
Yes i know hes a CF on the same team smh. Clearly i believe he isnt fit to start long term.

Pay the man his money. Take the 10M you are going to save on Morrow, 7M on Colby, and the 3.75 M with Santos, by not picking up their options after this year and use some of that money to pay Melky.
No, don't pay Melky, he's one a skill guy(great contact ability) that can't do anything else and he's awful on defence. Let him be the next great Yankee albatross contract. I'd give him the qualifying offer though, he'd be okay on a one year contract but giving him big money screams disaster
And besides that "saved money" will go to raises for the most part, if Rogers wants to expand payroll there are smarter ways to spend that money, maybe call up teh Rangers and ask for Choo if they're willing to eat a lot of salary, now that they're rebuilding they have absolutely no need for Choo.
WTF?
U talk about albatross contracts and Melky sucks but you want them to trade for **** choo?

Toronto fans are some of the dumbest human beings on earth
