It's awesome when my source breaks a story days before Stein. Philadelphia and Chicago are the two possible teams in a 3 way and both want Waiters. Problem with Philly is they aren't willing to give up picks in a deal.

Sixers shouldn't have to give up picks for a Waiters-Thompson/Young swap in my opinion.

If Cleveland is willing to give up Wiggins/Waiters/Thompson/Bennett for a one year rental they are bold and crazy.

Philadelphia is willing to take Waiters and Bennett, Bulls aren't and want Thompson. Philly if they take on Martin want picks while the Bulls were willing to give them. It's what I said yesterday, other than Wiggins, minny doesn't like what else Cleveland has.

I really REALLY hope we don't lose out on Dion...

I can roll with Tristan Thompson.

Waiters the talent makes sense to aquire but Waiters the man is what has me guessing from the Bulls FO. Waiters maybe the least GarPax player in the league.
Another interesting note is how the Bulls want Waiters even after Snell showed so much progress in SL.

1. I want out of Minnesota.
2. i want out of Minnesota before my contract with them is up.
3. I only want to go to a team with a chance at a championship.
4. I see only 3 teams I am interested in. GSW, Bulls, Cavs
5. But I won't sign an extension with any of them. I want them to give up their most prized future assets, and then I'll decide next season if I still want to play for them. Even if I do still want to play for them, I will leverage free agency to get the biggest contract available, and if they don;t give in to my demands i am gone.
The more i see this farce unfold, the less interested I am. I say run away as fast as you can from this guy. If you can be a 3rd party in a trade that sends him elsewhere and allows you to get the wing you need...go for it.
This guy is a total egomaniac.
He won't sign an extension this summer because next summer he is eligible for 30% of the cap instead of 25%. Why lose 5% right off the bat. I'm sure he will give strong assurances to whoever he gets traded too.
Exactly. "I want out of my contract. I want to pick the team I go to. I want all the risk to be with everyone else involved and all the reward to be with me. I won't take a dime less than I would get if I actually HONORED my contract". Screw him.
So what if he wants every slice of cash he can get? A player who can perform at his high level has basically earned that right. He's suffered in Minny long enough, and the reason he can choose the team he goes to is because of what he's accomplished on the court. Love's an egomaniac? As opposed to LeBron or Melo or Jordan or Rodman? There are a few rare exceptions like Durant or Rose or Pippen, but for the most part these dudes are whack. We used to put up with their BS back when we were a dynasty level contender. Rodman was one of the biggest egomaniacs and divas in the history of basketball. Guys like Lebron make Love look like a choir boy. Which he basically is, anyway.

So does the deal look like Taj for Waiters and Thompson then? Or Taj for Waiters, Thompson, Martin?
I'm higher on Waiters then Martin. IMO I'd rather trade Taj+MDJ for Waiters, Thompson, pick then picking up Martin.
I still would like to sit still till we see what we have closer to the deadline.

Waiters has much higher upside and is just a much better player than Tony Snell. He looked great in the SL but I wouldn't be surprised at all if he still wasn't ready to play a major role in the rotation yet. Luckily for him, he has time still and a great cast of vets to learn from.

We may be losing Jimmy after this season.
Waiters, Snell, Rose could be the future at our guard positions.

Bennett should carry a negative value. He wasn't that good in SL and that's with him in supposed shape (still looked out of shape to me).

Ralph - Is Chicago trying to acquire Love or just be the 3rd team?

SMH...this is the problem with the NBA fan win at all cost mentality today. I agree. I think Love, LBJ, Melo and Howard should all get to pick a city, go play there together, and all get paid the max.
Again, I have no problem with a guy playing out his contract, becoming a free agent, and making a money based decision to get all he can. LOVE WANTS OUT OF HIS CONTRACT to go to his choice of a city and have the deck stacked in his favor to win it all. But he doesn't want to give up a penny of coin or the slightest bit of leverage to do it. He wants his cake and to eat it too. Hell immediately after signing his big contract after Love then played 18 games the next season, after which he expressed his desire to leave. Why did he sign the damned contract then? How did he "earn" this? He has honestly had one full decent season in his whole career. He's a 6'10" PF who shoots 45% from the field.
You mentioned Jordan. Jordan was the most underpaid player in the league and had already won championships before he got his big payday. He definitely had an ego. And he stood behind that ego with his play very step of the way. He didn't ask for a trade when the bulls weren't winning. He didn;t insist they go buy other "Jordan's". He was just enough of an egomaniacal $%^&* that he preferred doing it himself. When Kevin Love actually carries a team to anywhere let me know and we will talk. Until then please never, never, ever mention him on the same sheet of paper as MJ, LBJ and Durant.
What ever happened to real pros?

I will say that Love is essentially a better shooter in ability, not with raw numbers due to the higher volume he had to shoot for the Wolves. However, Love jacks up a lot of threes for an NBA player, let alone a PF. I simply don't see that type of game happening for Love under the Bulls. Thibs would want him banging down low along with Jo for offensive boards, and Love hanging around the three point line negates that tactic.
Like I said, if Love could play SF he'd be right up there with LeBron and KD as one of the league's best. Also, as I said before, once Dirk stopped hanging around the three point line as frequently his team became much more dangerous. I'm not sure if Love and his below average, low volume, two-point shooting abilities could ever reach the bar set by Dirk and be what Thibs would likely want him to be for the Bulls.

The Bulls used the offseason to bring in players to stretch the floor. Their future PF is also a stretch PF. I don't think it's a stretch to believe Kevin Love would do what Kevin Love DOES in Chicago, stretch the floor. After all, our PG needs the floor stretched lol.
The guy is grabbing 10 + rebounds regardless.
