Green is a keeper. If he ever get traded (i hope not) i will drive down to PHX and slap McD!

It all depends who he would be traded for. He is crazy athletic, and now has decent range, but he still isn't very bright.
Overall I would like to keep him in PHX, but if he was needed to bring us a star front court player, I'd understand his departure.

I have to say, he was with out a doubt the most exciting player on the Suns last year.

Re: Dunks (feat. G. Green)
He really blossomed under Hornacek. Run fast, spread the floor, shoot a 3 or drive the lane.
Was amazing to see how many dunks he had off of steals. Very undervalued stat. A steal and 2 pts within 3 seconds is a great addition to any team.

Re: Dunks (feat. G. Green)
Green has the fearlessness that Shannon Brown is lacking as a freak athlete. I honestly think when we initially picked up Brown we wanted him to do exactly what Gerald did for us last season. Brown has a bulkier body and could absorb contact more than Green can, yet he's just scared to get funky. Dragic and Green were the 2 stars of the team last year, no way we would trade him unless it's for someone like Love.

But what do you think he is worth in free agency after this year when his contract expires?

How many years? I say 3 and I would prefer to pay him about 5 or 6 a year.

If he avg 18 and 5 and efficient I say 7-9 Mill yes on a 3 year deal. Maybe 3 year 24 mill.
Is that bad?

Re: Dunks (feat. G. Green)
Paying role-players like Green 8 mill a year ensures that you won't be able to spend for the stars needed to build a team. The ideal financial structure involves spending most of your money for All-Star/All-NBA guys and getting more value out of the rest of their guys than they're actually paid. Paying market value(or above) to Gerald Green is just not very smart.

1) Prove it
2) Why does that mean we should pay Green 7-9 mill a year?

16 ppg 4 rpg and 3 apg being a 4th option (That is what I would have him as) and then having an 18 ppg and 5 rpg year back to back (I stated if he avg 18/5 then he should get 7-9 mill in my opinion) on a team is definitely worth 7 mill a year.
Players getting over 7 mill a year that Gerald Green is better than.
Marcus Thornton
Brandon Bass (6.9 Mill)
Marvin Williams
Ty Lawson
Brandon Jennings
Channing Frye
George Hill
JJ Reddick (6.9 mill)
Jeremy Lin
Nick Young (Not 7 Mill but near 6 Mill)
Tayshon Prince
OJ Mayo
Illyasova
Drew Gooden (6.8 Mill)
Kevin Martin
Tyreke Evans
Eric Gordon
Bargnani
Calderon
Al Harrington
Glen Davis (6.6 Mill)
Carl Landry
Derrick Williams
Landry Fields
Amir Johnson
Andray Blatch
These guys are around 7 million a year.
I think Gerald Green if he can have a 18/5 season after a 16/4/3 season deserves 3 years 21-24 mill.

Re: Dunks (feat. G. Green)
I'm going to go out on a limb and say Gerald Green 21/3 > Bledsoe 48/4
especially considering how one player embraces Phoenix and the other seemingly not so much
