State your reasons why

No, because we're talking about hundreds of dollars worth of Clipper merchandise I've bought in my life and a lot of them are displayed in my house.

No. We were the clippers before DTS bought the team. No need to change it. Maybe if he changed our team to the clippers after he bought us I would think yes. But no. We are just fine how we are.

If it were 1988, or 1996, and we were talking about a name change, sure.
But not now.

KDRE how would you feel if I decided that I wanted to change your favourite team's name?
So obviously I am saying "Hell to the No!"

Ive always liked the Clipps though. There is honestly no need to do it, im just curious what the reasons yay or nay would be from the people in the actual city of Los Angeles.

It might come up once the sale is done but it might not. I've heard differing opinions so far.

Rebranding doesn't necessary mean changing the name. All you have to do is change the culture. Remember that the Clippers were once owned by a man who helped his best friend buy the Lakers, and would do anything to make a profit and/or to save money.

Soon-to-be owner Steve Ballmer is the opposite of You-Know-Who. His record is 0-0. It's a clean slate, a new start where the Clippers can win their games fairly and distraction-free. I can safely say that by winning an NBA championship, the rebranding process will be complete.

I lean towards no name change, however I see the point.

Yeah we were the Clippers before Sterling, but we are best known for being Sterling's "lol clippers lol". New ownership and positive team direction is about as good a chance as you'll ever get to change things up.

If we had to change, I'd vote yes on LA Stars in with a mix of powder blue or white alternate at home, Red road and current blue alternate road.

Well a name change isn't necessary at all, though I read an article that explains why Clippers should be Raiders, and with that I have no problem. Basically I see Clippers with a different logo, something more Clipper-ish and less Lakers-copy. With the Arena thing, Staples cannot stay arena for both forever that's for sure. However, Staples is the best arena in LA Probably, and Lakers and Clippers entered Staples at the same time, so there is no justification for Clippers leaving, it's not like they stole it. However, moving to another arena in LA sure gives Clippers their own home court advantage and gives them recognition and a dynasty of their own in LA. Besides that, colors, jerseys and all that is all good

Agreed people would say the stars sounds like a wnba team but it does actually fit the city though.

That said, they could at least look up some of those dope fan made logos and stuff because they're really nice and fitting to be honest.

It was said earlier, change the culture of the organization because it needs that in the worst way and I think we can all agree with that.

Actually, the culture in the organization changed years before DTS left, ever since we drafted Blake it has been working as a winning organization at all levels. Ask Blazers fans how they feel about their GM, the guy they stole from us, or read on how well regarded Gary Sacks is around the league. Ask yourself why did Paul and Rivers wanted to extend and come here. Why a lot of the ring chasing veterans are taking pay cuts to play on the Clippers. The marketing guys are obviously doing a good job and the Clippers have sold out their last 142 games, I believe the longest current streak in the NBA. Ballmer doesn't need to do anything drastic. We were awful 20 years ago but that hasn't been the case for a while. Sterling is gone already, and Roeser with him, most of the people in the organization are trust worthy nowadays.

I agree man but it hasn't been long enough yet.

I'm not calling the team the clips of the early 90s but I don't think they've fully arrived either if that makes sense.

You may feel otherwise but their reputation isn't fully out of that mire just yet and you certainly aren't looked at from the top down that way when you have a crap owner.

Really? The Stars?

If the name is changed, it shouldn't be to a pansy ass name like the Stars.

A name change to the Hollywood Knights would be fresh
