That's why I said 'might' about JT possibly being the immediate backup at SF, and I'd hope not because I don't think he's serviceable enough and that would probably make Marvin Williams the starting PF all in one swoop, which in my preordained opinion would spell doom for our team until Clifford changes it

I'm hoping Clifford extends his flexibility to making Henderson a undersized SF and Neal the immediate backup at SG, because I don't think Taylor is cut out to be playing about 20 minutes as a reserve for a team expecting to be fighting for HCA in the playoffs, and neither do I think Williams is cut out to be a starting PF for any team in the same vein

I think there is a 0% chance that Taylor plays over Hendo at the 3, and that his only shot at PT is if Clifford is strict about playing Hendo at the 2 spot and Marvin starts, which frees up minutes at the 3.

am I the only who thinks that we have one player too much? I know that **** happens and there can be injuries (knock on wood) but I believe in having too many guys. While the front-court at least has some youngsters who still have to pay their dues, Neal or Hendo seem unnecessary on this roster.

case in point - Neal being unhappy last year at Milwaukee.

didn't make much sense for them not to keep JT. his deal is cheap. he is good lockerroom. he has more upside than anyone you will find for that price. can never have enough good wing defenders to throw at the wing scorers.

even more likely when discussing the 2nd team - i dont think there will be many times when one of kemba or lance is not on the floor. subs will be staggered so that when kemba goes out, lance is playing with the bench. and when lance goes out, kemba is back on the floor.

1,2,3 rotation might look more like this during course of a game

Proven talent in a legitimate playoff push outweigh any potential JT might've had at his cheap price tag if you ask me. I don't see Taylor having any impact in this upcoming season, and he's already 25 years old. From my totally outside of the front office point of view (I have to say things like that to avoid people from jumping to assumptions), I feel like Taylor could've been retained had they waived him, but kept him around throughout training camp to see if he deserve a roster spot

I don't really like the idea of Williams starting, but I'd much prefer him to be our starter there than Zeller.

I can't and1 this enough. Taylor is coming off of a serious injury and he's hasn't been a consistent contributor. He's all potential, even though he's already 25. We are right at the cap, not the luxury tax. Signing Taylor versus someone else for the vet minimum is negligible if the other is proven. If he somehow ends up as our primary backup SF in the middle of a playoff race, I believe we will regret that decision during the season.

we have a lot of guys capable of playing minutes at SF - MKG, marvin, lance, hendo, PJ, taylor. we'll be OK if taylor has a slow start or doesnt pan out.

look, i want CDR on this team as much as the next guy, but i want him here in place of hendo, not taylor.

I'd rather have both, but that idea evidently ended with Taylor coming back. I don't think PJ or Taylor will be anything but net negatives. That makes it harder to trade Henderson unless we bring another wing back in.

Either way, as of now, my hope is that both MKG and Cody improve enough to garner more minutes. That leaves Lance, Henderson and Williams to swing cover the SF spot like has been mentioned. Taylor and PJ can wait until it's garbage time to try and prove their worth anything in this league.
