IDK, I am happy guys are saying good things, but I feel like DRose is a "feel good" story and everybody (including coach K) is rooting for him.

Of course he's rooting for him. But he doesn't have to say things like "he looks better than he did 4 years ago" if it wasn't true. Also other scouts and reporters have said that he looks good. If he looked bad and couldn't keep up I'm sure reporters would have said so. They aren't on Derrick's payroll to say nice things about him :P

Am I the only one, who feels like we''re getting a very hard sell on Derrick right now?

I get that they are probably doing it for the sake of his confidence. But people seem to being going out of their way to praise him. That's just what it seems like to me for some reason. I mean that video the last :20 is everyone talking about "how great is D Rose? What adjectives haven't we used yet? I don't know. Maybe it's just me. But it feels a bit forced.

Don't get me wrong. I like that the news is positive, He has missed most of the past three seasons. That would effect anyone for awhile.

Let's just see him get through a season, and I'll be happy.

it fits with the narrative that he's going to be on this team no matter what....they see him as an asset for down the road as a new core emerges once kobe bron melo wade hand it off...

Yea I'm working under the assumption that he's going to be on the team.

Between Coach K, comments yesterday, and Coach BoeheimI today. I don't see how he won't be. They refer to him as though he's on the team.

After all this praise, him not making the team, would be a very hard thing for Team USA to explain away. It'd also crush his confidence. And it's in everyone's interest not to let that happen.

im buying into the hype actualy and im a very cautious kind of dude. Juts way too much praise going on not to. I mean you saw in that clip where the coaches are talking amongst themselves and they are saying Derrick looks good.

The caveat is we still dont know how his body will react to 32+ minutes a game over a 82 game season. But if Derrick stays healthy i feel DRose back!

I hope to see Rose getting a lot of rest throughout the regular season, especially late into the season. Give Brooks some run

it's important to thibs that derrick make the team. it's a great situation for him as he can let the game come to him. shooters all over the floor. I can see a change in derrick's mindset this year. he wants to focus on efficiency and running the team well. Very encouraging.

I see wall and lillard as odd men out. it's a hierarchy in a way and they are new at this. their time will come.

Rose is like the refurbished toy which is better than all the new toys which are "assembly line" produced. Rose was a broken down toy but repaired by the best engineers with better parts(rehab, learning) to become better than the old designed new toys.

This is true. Not only are the coaches and announcers talking like Derrick has already made the team, but THE Head Coach, is talking about him and Durant being the leaders.. I think Derrick is on the team unless there is a physical issue.

This is exactly why I think he's a near lock to make this team. They're not going to go in with three sub par defenders at the 1, particularly when Coach K likes having his guards press full court.

Not even a question anymore. The entire NBA TV crew, the coaching staff and even the players have been fapping to the Rose all day. The only question now is if he's starting or not.

Rose the six million dollar man? (funny how pathetic that amount seems in today's terms).

In baseball, pitchers that get Tommy John early in their career often do come back: Better, stronger, faster.

But if Rose were to miraculously be improved, I'd still always wonder if the injuries sapped off even more ceiling he might have had.

It might be a blessing in disguise. Even though he was great with his aggressive game, the better he looked physically, he neglected the mental part and might not have even got to improving the mental side until he was too old. Now, he probably can blend those two aspects based on need.

It was inevitable with his size, his ceiling would have never reached its heights because other bigger players(like Howard) would beat him up more. It is better for him to pick and choose his spots to be aggressive rather than trying to be the baddest guy on the court every possession.

Does anybody have a list of all the players in Vegas for this? The team and the select team working out with them?

I have bunch of friends who are Cavs fans. When the Lebron stuff started happening recently, they were the most negative bunch ever. They thought Lebron and the media were just screwing with Cleveland and he would never come back. They'd dismiss every piece of good news with some sort of rationalization. Like they just didn't want to get their hopes up. Even at the end when I thought it was obvious he was coming back, they were still not ready to believe.

In a weird way, I'm seeing a lot of the same stuff from Bulls fans on the D. Rose return. Like nobody wants to get their hopes up that Derrick is going to be one of the best players in the NBA. People claiming it's all a conspiracy of people trying to be nice to him, not that he is actually looking great. That they have to say it because Thibs is there. Or to let him down easy when he is cut or something.

Maybe, just maybe, Rose really is back and better than ever. Perhaps we have one of the best basketball players in the world leading our Bulls again?
