I have a bad feeling Wall goes down for ~20 games, and we're forced to start Miller for that time. I like Dre, but he's not the answer at backup point guard, and I think the team is going to suffer greatly if he has to start at any point during the season.
Yeah, I think last year we kind of lucked out - Wall played 82 games, Beal "only" missed 9 and Nene "only" missed 29. If Wall had missed 8-10 games we probably don't win 40.
We definitely did not "luck out" by Nene spraining his MCL and missing 29 games. He only missed 19 games the year before. Yes we expect him to get banged up and take games off from time to time, but you can't just pencil him in for a major injury and 30+ missed games every season
And this time around, we won't have to start Trevor Booker at PF. The team is much more prepared to withstand a Nene injury now.
Of course if Wall misses significant time we're screwed, but he is actually on somewhat of an ironman streak. John has played 142 consecutive games (including postseason).
