talking about new rules it would be fun if next year we can keep 5 guy + 1 rookie contract thoughts?

If you trade a draft pick for a player, you get to use that player as if you drafted them, essentially making them a 6th keeper for that season.

Wait, are we saying Nerlens Noel is a rookie? I didn't think he would be eligible for the rookie draft.

Thoughts?

So everyone loses their savings from last year? Does not seem fair.

With Zero games played, I think he is still considered a rookie. (he is eligible for rookie of the year this season)

I would vote that he's not a rookie. But if we do decide to uphold the pick, I think it only fair that the first two picks be given a chance to pick Noel instead as they probably didn't realize that he was available.

Also, if we determine Noel to be eligible for the rookie draft, are there other players in Noel's same situation that would be eligible for the rookie draft?

a) he have 0 games in nba
b) he was from the last team that was cut and the players were free

I only did the cp3 trade to get him due that two points

Btw I play fantasy here since 2005 or so and not by a single time this rules changed

AHAHAHAHAHAH I told frost that a new rule was going to be there for me

Unused cash may be carried over to subsequent drafts. But, unused cash will NOT be applicable to waiver wire pick-ups, which will have its OWN budget on Yahoo.

So, if I understand correctly, everyone gets $100 each season for the auction. If you have cash left over from the previous year, it adds to your $100. So I would have $180 to spend this draft ($100 this year plus $80 from last year).

bww78 wrote:Thanks Jeremy. That is correct.

So we have to go back to last season's draft for carryover amounts, not the waiver wire budget.

Classic Bww

No way he is a rookie. He could have been picked up as a keeper last season. He belongs in the FA auction. Rookies are guys who were drafted by an NBA team in 2014.

BWW - what is the verdict on all of this? We need a final call (or vote) on the carry over of money from last year. We should also have a vote on the handling on Noel. If both are ruled out, Fran and I have to veto our own trade, and start all over. We will wait for your direction before being able to continue with the draft.

+1. Noel may be a Rookie by NBA definitions, but for our purposes, he CAN'T be a rookie. Because we have two separate drafts, the rookie draft and the FA draft, anyone (and everyone) on the FA list should be INELIGIBLE for the Rookie Draft.

I do have a question. In order to keep Jabari on his team, does BWW have to name Jabari as one of his keepers. Or does he name 5 keepers and if he wants additionally he can keep Jabari as well?

because it's somewhat stupid to have a 2 round rookie draft if we have to name those rookies as our keepers. I don't see anybody keeping their 2nd rookie... Hell some of us could just let go of our 1st rookie pick as well. because let's face it, the top 80 players in fantasy have a much better chance to contribute.

and this is just BS. fran again trying to bend the rules.

As far as I know, the players drafted in the rookie draft do not count as your keepers.
