Was actually thinking the same thing. If a major injury happens to another player who qualifies for that, then they need to change everything about that rule or something. Just real freaky.

No, they won't. The injury sucks for George and his teammates, but most people don't have a 90 million dollar contract to fall back on when they get injured on the job. Good luck getting the general public to feel too much sympathy for you.

They all look pretty sick. They all have towels covering their mouths. Us seeing it makes us sick, so just imagine it happening to a teammate :(

I'm always scared Rose will get hurt when I watch him play. This Paul George latest thing just amplifies it even more. Not sure if I'll ever be able to watch Derrick with the carefree ease that he's not gonna get hurt ala MVP year and all. It's so nerve-wrecking.

Don't really believe that it's "cursed", but sports us fans are real superstitious. Aren't Rose and George the only two that have qualified since the rule started? Literally both had freak injury the year after signing the contract. If it were to happen to the next guy, that would just bee too freaky for my taste

The look in DROSE eyes is something I'll never forget. You could FEEL the hurt in his eyes when he was looking at George.

I havent screamed out loud while watching a replay since the Kevin Ware injury.

Truly scary stuff.

Prayers up for Paul George.

You wasn't the only one. It made people over here scream to turn the channel.

Derricks tools are as good as ever but i still saw some timing issues. Which i expected, but his athleticism being intact was the real take away from tonight(for derrick).

I thought he did a good job of not forcing it and letting the game come to him for the most part.

These games should knock weeks of rust off going into the season.

Can we just call this whole FIBA nonsense thing off? Or just have Rose play 1 min per game. I just want the season to start!!!

George's injury was horrible and you never wish for an injury like that for anyone. Not even a player you dislike.

On the plus side of the game. Rose looks better than ever. I know it was a scrimmage but he looks like he was a different and more mature player. Hopefully that translates to the NBA season.

I don't understand this statement.

As far as I recall Derrick suffered his two injuries playing for the Chicago Bulls. If anything, he should plays his heart at now, and then remain cautious when the regular season starts. Does it make it better that he injures himself again wearing the Bulls jersey as opposed to the USA jersey?

People need to quit this defeatist mindset. It was a freak accident, just like Derrick's - it's what being a professional athlete is about, you're putting your body through extreme stress levels and your prone to injure more than the regular folk. Whether it be pick up basketball, representing your country or your league, it doesn't differ the probability in which you'll get injured.

It's probably a good thing for Derrick to have this moment come back to his mind, so he can't shun away his own experiences to the back of his mind. He needs to face that it's just a part of sport and face the challenges head on. You start playing with fear and hesitation, than you're likely opening yourself up for more injuries.

I think KD, Blake, and Kyrie all apply to the Rose rule.
