Re: Tibor Pleiss coming to OKC!
Steven Adams will be a beast "down under" in a few years. (Sorry for being cheesy.) I hope he watches some Marc Gasol tape and improves in creating his own shots and developing a softer touch around the rim. He does everything else very well for such an inexperienced big. He always seems to be in the right position at the right time. Not to mention the guy is as strong as an ox. He's almost too strong for his own good and sometimes that gets the best of him with guys looking to flop around and pick up cheap fouls on him. I love Marc Gasol's game though because he can bang down low but can also hit you with a running hook shot down the lane or a mid-range jump shot when he flashes open after setting a screen. He's got a strength game and a finesse game to go with it.
I've always liked Pleiss' potential but I'll be honest I'm losing my patience with the whole process. Hopefully he makes it over next year.

So you know why Steven Adams looks that good as a rookie right?
Because he stole all of Lamb's experience lmao.

One thing i would like to see Brooks do is move Jackson back to the 6th man, not starter.
Let Westbrook and Durant rest some more, and create a dozen plays or so specifically for Jackson and Adams. It seems if this guy is being fed, he's money. Even when he has to adjust, he seems to take little issue doing so.

I wouldn't mind it, but if Perk starts they need a scorer. I'm hoping its Adams w/ Roberson, or Perk and PJ or RJ.
Gonna post in the offseason thread too, but:
As an aside, good article on defensive strenghts/weaknesses of teams (and a link to the same topic examining offense):

I like cheese, cheese is good.
I actually have a pretty hard time comparing Adam's to a current or previous NBA player. Just because his fundamentals, we have not really seen in a while. And his skill set is a pretty old-schoolish skill set. NBADRAFT.net says Byron Mullen's. Which, i watched quite a bit of him and dont really see the comparison.
I guess if anything, i would say he's.... Pau Gasol out to the 12 foot area, not beyond.... maybe with a bit of Z-Bo mixed in and Chandlers ability to quickly get the shot off.
He has this typical euro-league finesse shot 12 feet and closer, but then at the same time he has this panic looking shot, thats not really panic but oddly taken and often goes in, so you can tell its a skill shot but not something you see with players like that. Thats a z-bo shot.
I dunno, its so hard to draw comparisons with this guy and bring it all to a summary.
I dont see this guy being a Marc Gasol though. Maybe... i dunno.... like i said, his game and skill set, while utterly impressive, is so hard to define and narrow down.

Good read.
Although i have to say, im getting tired of all the damn advanced statistics and metrics articles. In the end someone who knows the basic stats but also just the game of basketball, is just as effective in predictions and evaluations.
And fact of the matter is there will always be 20% of the game we cant put numbers to.... hows that for irony.

Yeah good points. I don't see him being a Marc Gasol either but I hope he can learn a thing or two from watching how well he works in the post. He probably won't ever develop much range and a soft touch is hard to learn for a guy as strong as he is but it's possible. Probably more wishful thinking on my part but he's young and has plenty of time to improve in those areas. It's just hard to play bully ball all day. When defenders know it's coming, they set their feet and take one on the chin. Against Adams, they don't even really need to flop. He'll knock them over easily enough. He's got to stay out of foul trouble in order to get decent minutes next year. I'm still hoping he starts so he's a bit more polished for the playoffs and continues to build rapport with the starters. He needs all the minutes he can get. I'd rather lose a few extra games and have the young guns feeling confident going to the post-season. Durant, Westbrook, and Ibaka will almost always get theirs. The young guys will make the difference between another WCF exit and an NBA championship.

In OKC's is always next season, or in the near future.

Re: Tibor Pleiss coming to OKC!
At this point, I like Pleiss staying over.
First because it's likely that he goes to Barcelona. The biggest separation between Splitter and Pleiss, and the biggest bust-concern about him, is that he has underwhelming and underperforming on the ball skills. In the pass-oriented offense Barcelona runs, he should have to put some work in his passing game and overall offensive awareness. Should be positive for the Thunder to have a big with this experience.
Second, because he could potentially take minutes away from Adams and McGary. Breed one at a time to keep everyone with their development minutes. Best option for the Thunder.

Re: Tibor Pleiss coming to OKC!
The best option would be to ***k off Perkins, Adams to start and bring Pleiss from the bench

No, he can't. None of them are quick or agile enough, and they just signed Justin Doellman, a PF that was last year MVP of Spanish League ACB and will play a lot

Don't know too much about him but he seems like a big body who can help us battle in the paint.
Good move!

Didn't Dorsey start at center last year? Any reason Tibor can't beat out Tomic?
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Dorsey was the backup C, Lorbek and Nachbar were the PF.
I think Tibor is a great player, but Tomic is better. Last season by the croatian was amazing, scoring in a lot of different ways and improving in defense. ¨He has a role I don't think Tibor can't beat in one season. But who knows, maybe Pascual will put both together (tho I don't think so)

It's official, Tibor Pleiss signs with FC Barcelona, 2-year contract (I suppose that that is to guarantee a buyout for the team, because they paid a lot of money to have Pleiss leaving his last team)
