Yeah he should be more like a creator for others.

not that

he still plays out of control which is why he keeps getting injured.

its cringeworthy watching him land at times

I'll never understand this train of thought. Rose got injured on a jump stop and a backdoor cut, but he's out of control which is why he gets hurt? And Rose is really fast but he's rarely out of control. Rose's injuries seemingly are more genetic than anything given the history of the Rose brothers and their knees. It doesn't matter how Rose plays the game if he's going to get hurt he's going to get hurt.

I don't understand this statement.

As far as I recall Derrick suffered his two injuries playing for the Chicago Bulls. If anything, he should plays his heart at now, and then remain cautious when the regular season starts. Does it make it better that he injures himself again wearing the Bulls jersey as opposed to the USA jersey?

People need to quit this defeatist mindset. It was a freak accident, just like Derrick's - it's what being a professional athlete is about, you're putting your body through extreme stress levels and your prone to injure more than the regular folk. Whether it be pick up basketball, representing your country or your league, it doesn't differ the probability in which you'll get injured.

It's probably a good thing for Derrick to have this moment come back to his mind, so he can't shun away his own experiences to the back of his mind. He needs to face that it's just a part of sport and face the challenges head on. You start playing with fear and hesitation, than you're likely opening yourself up for more injuries.

Agreed with what you say, but to answer the bold part.....OF COURSE!!!! He's a Chicago Bull first and foremost. If he were to get hurt, you'd rather it be for the top cause of why he's playing basketball and for who is paying him. So yes.

Are you part of the ownership that is footing Derrick's bill or something? He is a human being who is under contract for an organization, not some damn piece of property. Just like with all the other players, they have a team and players agreement to allow them to play for their country, knowing that there is a chance that injuries can happen, not sure how being injured for your team or your country is any better or worse, that's not logical at all.

Heck, going by your logic, being that he has been injured twice already as a Chicago Bulls, so he has been very much a team first player right? Good for Derrick, what a true team player!

Again, this is all uncontrollable. I'm not saying I don't want Derrick to play for Team USA, but what is the end goal of all this? Ultimately, it's to shake off the rust and come better prepared for the main event which is playing for the Chicago Bulls and nobody else.

You're veering off course when saying stuff like "piece of property" and asking if I'm part of the ownership paying the bill. That's unwarranted. We sit on this board everyday creating fake trade scenario after fake trade scenario, yet that's not considered treating people like property? SMH man, keep the conversation within the boundaries and don't get off track. This isn't about that at all
Kris Bryant will go down as the greatest Chicago athlete after MJ

edit 7/30/21: okay maybe not, but it was a fun ride nonetheless

kulaz3000 wrote:Seriously? Why is everyone freaking out because PG went down with an injury? Did the league stop playing when Derrick went down? Did players start to question their style of play? C'mon guys, this is sports, this type of things happen every so often, it just seems people are horrified due to how the injury looked and how gruesome it was. But the truth is, there are more extreme injuries that happen, which are much more serious than PG's which don't look as gruesome upon viewing them, but have vastly more dire consequences.

Yes, it should be acknowledged that a really good player went down, and people should wish him well, but lets not pretend that the guy died playing basketball and that all these players need to start taking it easy, and stop playing basketball all together. Lets stop this nonsense, and stop being so damn ridiculous.

Thank you! You worded it perfect, I can understand why they stopped the scrimmage, but hey there are injuries happening all the time and the game goes on. Shaun Livingston's was much worse for example, but yeah sure it is a horrid injury happening to a franchise player, it happens. The other guys will move on, they need to, it is their job for crying out loud. Keep this in perspective please.

Back to the game, I would have loved to see Derrick taking a mid-range jumpshot or a three, but he really went all out. I hope that was just the jitters of the first game. Otherwise I'm gonna be scared what will happen if he plays longer minutes.

Rose looked like 2010 Derrick. Speed and explosiveness was the same and he even ignored a wide open Kyle in transition for old times sake. He's back

I was at the game so here is my report.

Derrick looked great out there. I was actually sitting right behind Reggie Rose and the rest of Derricks brothers. Derrick during warmups was hitting alot of 3s and generally his jumper looked pure. He certainly has been working on his jumper. And as many may have seen during the game, he looks as explosive as ever. He was doing some sick dunks during warmups.

I think Derrick is going to have an amazing year this year.

I was really hyped during this game as it was the first time seeing Derrick live and it was worth it. Alot of us were chanting MVP when he was at the free throw line. I dont know how loud it was on tv but it was at the stadium.

The Paul George injury made me sick to my stomach. I saw it as it happened and I knew instantly he broke his leg. I was thinking to myself, get Derrick the F out of the game! The game was called off anyway and it was best.

One thing I notice about Rose is he doesn't know how to land. He comes down hard on one leg or with his weight favoring one side of his body.

His dunk last night was a perfect example. He comes down entirely on one foot, the second foot not hitting the ground until all of the impact was already on the first leg.

He is also not great at falling, being able to fall gracefully is a skill.

Rose needs to do some hard core yoga and gymnastic training. Something that will provide him more balance.

I can't be the only one who has noticed this?

I liked Rose in the 1st half. I didn't like him in the second half. He turned the ball over way too much and was a wreck out there. He stopped looking for his shot and started trying to pass first. You cnanot do that. You get penetration n the lane you have to look to score first, pass second. The result of trying to pass first is turnovers.

That's odd.

The first thing I thought about was the support he still has even though his image is trying to be inappropriately brought down.

As A Bulls fan I wasn't thinking "please stop"..... always nice to see a member of the Bulls get love.

Maybe if it was Jo it would have been totally awesome
NBA Playoffs.... I can never wait!
