Wiggins becomes trade eligible on the 23rd.
If we would have traded for KLove Cavs would be slightly worse bec no K-Love and an unproven rookie in AW21 at the same time I think we have a much better shot in the NBA Finals vs. the West with Gibson/McDermott/Mirotic than K-Love and no depth.
East should be hard to win but if we would do that chances would be higher to win it all than with Love and no depth.

If we traded for Love, I don't see why wouldn't still have Gasol to backup the pf and C?

Yea, we'd be pretty thin outside of Jimmy. I don't trust Snell yet.

Bosh is a better defender. I agree he moves his feet better than Love and is longer. But he isn't a good defender. Miami was a good defense team because their primary wings were amazing at trapping. Ask Derrick.
The Cavs will be able to put Varejo on any type of good post option like we did with Noah and they will control the boards. Which is being underrated here.
They didn't do it out of necessity. It was a decision on their part to play small ball.
In their first season together in Miami, James was playing the 3 and Bosh was their starting 4. Big Z & Joel Anthony were running through the C spot.
In 2010-11, one of those 2 started every game of the playoffs for the Heat at C, so Bosh wasn't cast into that role until later on.
It was a decision on their behalf to go small, and even when they did, they only dropped from 4th to 5th in defensive rating. Marginal.
It's yet to be determined what Cleveland do re going small, but if Varejao is not on the court, their defense is going to suffer big time down low if Love is left there alone, be it at the PF or C position.

KC, none of those guys were real starters and Bosh still saw signifigant time at C in his first two years. No one sits a good big to go small. People go small because of the shortage of bigs. The heat would have played Noah and Bosh if they had Noah on their roster. And the premise of this discussion wasn't about Bosh in Miami. It was comparing the two prior to playing with Bron. And Bosh captained a team that was one of the worst defensive teams in the league his last year in Toronto.
We don't know what Love will do with real coaching and one of the best lock down wings.

Imagine Rubio feeding LaVine and Wiggins. Definitely highlight material potential there.
I think Minny have gone about this pretty well. Wiggins and some is going to be a great return.

LaVine will be the best shooter
But Wiggins and LaVine will be fun to watch in Minny

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

Oh please, there are plus and Negatives in having both Love and Bosh, but If anyone were too pick Bosh, TODAY, they are smoking weed. Love is 25 sir and still not even reaching his potential yet. They are both great players and stats show when love was on the court for Minnesota last year he had top 3 +- point differential in the NBA behind Lebron and Durant, Wolves had no bench and you can go on there forum and ask them. They are both nasty players and Love would help any team win a championship. Rumors going around that Cavs are not done with Love and will keep Varajoe but add a center (Nuggets).Never discount the best player in the world, he will lead any team too a conference finals and or Nba finals as long as he is healthy ...... it will be Cavs vs Bulls in the eastern conference finals if Rose stays healthy.
KingCuban wrote:TheStig wrote:Again, who are the C's that are going to torch Love but not Bosh? Not only are there so few C's that can actually walk and chew gum but even less that can score the ball.
I will also add, Bosh gets beat up on the offensive boards, something Love wouldn't have an issue with. Getting rebounds is part of defense.
It's not about individual centers or power forwards matching up to Love and beating him one on one. It's about the pressure that the Cavs will have in going small by having zero rim protection, crappy pick and roll defense and positioning.
Bosh is not an elite defender, but he can swat shots and he plays good defense. It gave the Heat some semblance of post defense.
Love gives them none of that, so if they don't want to leak a bucket of points, they will need to play him with a defensive guy on most occasions, assuming their aim is to get stops.

Is anyone suggesting this?
The post you quoted of mine, i compared Bosh in 09-10 to Love in 13-14. You're arguing against yourself in reference to my post.

I am seriously wondering why it is not officially"Tampering" on Lebron's part in his recruiting of Love.
According to NBA rules, it is, because Love is under contract and not a free agent.

Bosh is better player overall, especially defense, he growed into one of the best pick and roll big defenders in league in Miami...
