The Sixers need shooting...another PG shouldn't be on their radar.

If we want to try and copy the Spurs. Shooters need to be abundant. 2 outside shooters are needed to go with MCW and the twin towers.

Who do you think will be traded out along with K Love?

Rubio, and Pekovic are Wolves' foundation. I don't see them getting shipped. Their rookies I don't see getting pushed out unless they are asked for in the packaged trade. Who are Dieng, Shabazz, LaVine, Shved. All are under very manageable contracts. Robbie too. Turiaf gives solid bench depth. K Martin would start.

This makes it appear that Wolves would be pushing Budinger, Brewer, Barea, and Mbah (each have contracts of around 5mill) into a trade package featuring the main guy K Love.

Sixers out:
Thaddeus Young 9m
In:
Bennett 5.5m
Barea 4.5m Expiring
Mbah 4.3m Expiring
Total in 13.3m

Net Salary change = 4.3m

Cavaliers out:
Bennett 5.5m
Wiggins 5.5m
Total out 11m
In:
Kevin Love 15m

Net Salary change = 4m

Wolves out:
Love 15m
Barea 4.5m
Mbah 4.3m
In:
Young 9m
Wiggins 5.5m

Net Salary change = -9.3m

Throwing this out there. Sixers would likely get a protected pick from Cavaliers

I don't think the 76ers are really necessary for Cleveland and Minnesota to make a deal, so I don't believe the 76ers get a significant piece like Bennett or Waiters.

I see the Cavs sending out Wiggins, Bennett and Hayward to the Timberwolves for Kevin Love. That's 13m for 15m. I'm not going to do the math, but I think those salaries are close enough to the 15%.

I see a separate trade involving Thad Young for Luc Mbah a Moute, Shabazz Muhammad and Budinger (or Brewer).

Minnesota wants to win and rebuild at the same time, because the coach is the President. They get to replace Love with Thad. They can bring Bennett along behind Thad. They can bring Lavine along behind Kevin Martin.

I don't see the 76ers taking on Kevin Martin because his contract is too long and I don't see Minnesota giving up Bennett just to get the 76ers to take their other very short contracts.

Luc Mbah a Moute, Shabazz Muhammad and Budinger will be 76ers if they are involved.

Hmm I like your points. This sounds pretty likely. It's not a great return for Thad, not that we should be expecting a lot but still. A trade for the sake of getting rid of Thaddeus because I dont see those guys sticking and making an impact. But nicely thought out trade

Twincities.com article saying we are expected to be part of a 3 team deal for Love.

Hoping we can get something good.

I think the surest bet coming back in a Thad Young trade from Minnesota is Luc Mbah a Moute, from Cameroon. He'll be targeted to help mentor Joel Embiid this season while he rehabs.

Honestly, I think the wolves, just like the Cavs, are just not that high on Benett. They probably look at him as a bust. All that "Thad is a better replacement for love" talk is BS. Just think about it.. On paper, Benett has a higher ceiling and has better salary than Thad. Why the hell would they prefer Thad over Benett?

And for the Wolves they think they have the edge talentwise and on the financials by doing a benett for Thad + cap flexibility deal. Thad, short term. Cap flexibility, long term. Cap flexibility also might be used to re-sign Thad next offseason, thus minimzing risk in losing him.

In the end, I think we'd ask atleast for Benett. Personally, I trust Hinkie's judgement on Benett. I also think Hinkie is high on Thad than most people think.

Lloyd, sorry I have to disagree with you on this. But Hinkie seems to be a guy who doesn't do trades for mentorship. This guy is just a thirsty talent collector. I'm sure we're going to end up with either or both of the Cavs' pick or Benett.

No offence but how is Luc Mbah supposed to mentor Embiid? Luc isn't good. I can see them being good pals, that's about it

Also, I think the Wolves owner said he expects Love dealt on the 23rd or 24th.

OK, we'll see. I don't think the 76ers get Bennett/Waiters AND a pick in this deal. The 76ers aren't needed to get the deal done. They don't have the leverage to get all of that.
I could see one of those protected picks from Cleveland coming back, but the 76ers would need to take back some more salary from Minnesota than just Budinger or Brewer. I don't think one year of Barrea is enough to get Minnesota to transfer a pick to the 76ers.

Luc a Moute is the guy who discovered Embiid. He convinced Embiid's father to let him come to the states to play Basketball.

He could probably mentor him mentally, and show him how the league runs. Probably can't do a lot for him as far as skills go though.

Aside from the Cavs discontinuing the production of Wiggy's jersey, apparently Minny has discontinued Love's too. Too bad we gotta wait about 3 weeks for something to officially go down.

Just out of fun tho, what would you guys do if we somehow ended up with Wiggy via Thad and a couple of firsts? Timing is right too, with the whole new lottery system coming to place.

This is what I have been advocating from the jump. Even if it was Noel, Young, and our 2015 1st (the half we can trade) for Bennett and Wiggins... I'd do that in a heartbeat. Of course, trading a 2017 1st is preferable to Noel. But notice there have been no details leaked yet even though all indicators point to the fact this deal is done and just waiting the 30 days until Wiggins can be moved? That reeks of Hinkie. No matter how unrealistic, Hinkie needs to push. I just hope it's not Waiters.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
