I m not enamored with him, as I see the holes in his game, but I do believe that he could be a lot better with better coaching, and better teammates. I m positive that he would be a better shooter here with a year or so under coach Hornacek, and with that he could be a player in the mold of Jefferson/Randolph. Dude is 6'11, so he can play C on our team. Monroe/Plumlee/Len/Markieff is a good playoff frontline I believe - especially if anyone besides Markieff learns to shoot the rock from 10-15 feet.
That's questionable. I think we're better off letting Bledsoe walk for nothing than we would be to trade him for the right to pay Monroe 13 or 14 million a year for 4 years. The problem here is David Falk. He has created an image around Monroe that just doesn't hold up.
If we had drafted him and he'd signed with just about any other agent, we'd be trying to decide between offering him 7 or 8 million a year or letting him walk. On the plus side, I think he's a decent worker and seems to be a decent guy and it's a safe bet he will improve in a few areas. But he can't even pretend to guard the four and would be a well below average defender even at the center position. I don't think you get ahead in this league overpaying for that kind of talent on the hope that your coach can do what no one else has been able to do - teach him to shoot.
