So will it be Atlanta, Jets, or Vikings? I am positive it will be against one of his former teams.

I really hope it's the Viking game since I'll be there.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Nearly six years after he was traded away by the Green Bay Packers, Brett Favre and his former team will come together for the first time on Monday in what is being billed as a joint announcement by the former quarterback and the Packers Hall of Fame.

According to a source, the announcement will be to say that Favre will be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame in the summer of 2015 and also will have the uniform No. 4 that he wore for the Packers from 1992-2008 retired. It was not immediately clear when the number retirement ceremony will take place.

The Hall of Fame, which is independent of the Packers but houses its museum at Lambeau Field, holds its induction ceremony annually in July. The museum is current closed for construction as part of the renovations in the stadium's Atrium. It is scheduled to re-open next April.

Monday's announcement will take place on Monday at 1:30 p.m. local time at Lambeau Field and will include appearances by Packers Hall of Fame Inc. president Perry Kidder, Packers president Mark Murphy and former Packers president Bob Harlan, who is a member of the Packers Hall of Fame executive committee.

Favre will not appear at the event but will speak via telephone, the team said in announcement on Sunday night.

Well, you knew they needed to get it done before Favre goes into the NFL HOF. But are they inducting him into the Packer HOF AND retiring his number during the summer? I hope not. I hope his number retirement happens in Lambeau during a game.

I'm still not over Favre. When I see him I just see a giant douche. I did enjoy the Holmgren days with Favre. It is what it is. I did enjoy Favres career the good and the bad. Just think of him as a douche now.

From what I read the plan is to induct him to the Packers HOF in July next summer, and then retire his number during the season.

Yes, this will happen next season not this season. Goes into Packer HOF next July, uniform retired during the season sometime.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Smart way. Can ease his return into a fairly controlled environment & great way to promote new HOF. Glad jersey retirement next season. All the honors deserved, glad this is happening.

and that would not have been possible but for the foresight of Ron Wolf, the greatest GM In the history of the NFL.

I wouldn't be surprised if he makes an unofficial visit to Lambeau sometime this year. No public appearances, no interviews, they'll just show him watching a game from a box.

Was thinking the same thing, it will be very discreet but they will let it be known either during the game or after the fact.

Yeah. They'll pan over him during a break in the action and crowd will applaud while he waves to everyone. I'd be stunned if that didn't happen, honestly.

That's probably a reason why they are making the HOF announcedment a year ahead of time, it starts the "process". Have him make an appearance at a game this year, maybe do an offseason event or two (perhaps the Lombardi golf outing next June) and by the time of the HOF ceremony and jersey retirement there won't be any lingering bad feelings.

I'm good with it, we've won a Super Bowl since he left, time to move on.

Sums up how I feel too. I'm just whatever at this point. Loved him while he was here. Great memories. Hopefully this number retirement and HOF stuff will provide closure everyone is looking for.
