Reship Hornets gear.

Post#1 » by bomberjame » Fri Aug 1, 2014 1:53 am

Hi All
I have been a huge fan of the Hornets/Bobcats/Hornets lol. I live in Melbourne Australia and buy alot of team items ie clothing, hats and so on.
Ordering through NBA.com I get charged 25 bucks delivery to Australia. I have noticed Lidz.com have some new Hornet wear not available at nba.com, I would like to purchase but for some reason they will not send to Australia. in the past I have used a company called reship in these circumstances but I was wondering if anyone knew any cheaper companys as reship want to charge me $60 to send $100 of clothing?

There are a few Australian posters on here I believe. They might be able to give you some advice.

I use ebay and get free shipping with most of my gear.

My best though is if you know anyone here getting them to ship them for you. If not then the best way would likely be eBay.

The 25 dollar shipping charge from NBA.com isn't all that bad really. Unless you're just ordering one item I'd just pay it to avoid the hassle. Unless it's 25 per item, which in that case is rediculous.

Thanks everyone for your answers. The $25 dollar shipping NBA charge is not my issue (happy to pay) the problem comes when I want to order something from lids.com that bans international shipping.

If someone here was willing to on send the items to me (I would pay them In advance of course) that would be alot better then using a company called Reship that charges $60

Then it all becomes a trust issue. You to send the money and whoever to ship the items once they get it. If it is truly something from lids you want I would look for a person around Charlotte. There are a number of lids around here. Concord Mills has some great stuff.

Not to hijack the thread, but you would think PayPal or someone would jump in on situations like this and make money off of it.

Basically PayPal becomes the third party entity that takes the money from one person and then doesn't transfer the money until proof of whatever service is given. So in this instance bomberjame would put money into something similar to an escrow on PayPal for say jdm3. PayPal will then transfer the money to jdm3 once proof is given that his items have been bought and shipped.

jdm3 say makes a little money for fronting the money out front and PayPal makes 10% off the transaction price.

jdm3 can't take the money and run because he can't get it until proof of deed is done and bomberjame can't screw jdm3 by never sending the money because technically he is sending the money so it is out of his account anyway.

I'm sure some hackers or some people will figure away around the system, but if done right it could be handled well. I just don't know how big of a market there is for it.

I agree it should be doable like that. Then Bomber could save some cash by paying me to go to Lids here and buy directly if they have what is wanted. I was at Concord Mills today and saw lots of good Hornets gear. They have a Lids and a Locker Room there with lots of good stuff. It is where I got my hat.

The way it can be done I believe is I transfer the money through paypal to jdm3 for full amount of item first.
jdm gets a quote for delivery to Australia. i pay that amount plus say $10 for putting jdm3 out. jdm after payment is made for delivery posts the items.
Would this work?

It would but the only issue would be trusting someone you don't know with the money. In the long run depending on shipping and everything else it could save you a bit of money assuming the local store has what you wanted. The only shipping cost would be from NC to Australia.

I dont hide from my choices. I left my big board on my sig until I replaced it with this. I don't change my sig often so until I decide there is something else I like it will stay like this.

Fair enough. It was no criticism by the way.
I thought Nik was a strange choice by the Kings (do they ever do anything logical? ) .

I am fine with our pick. He would have ranked ahead of Nik for me if I thought there was any way he would fall. I just don't shy away from what I post.

I would do it for you if I wasn't so busy with moving and such. I'm sure the best option would be someone in Charlotte who is around downtown a lot just pick up the items you want at the store and ship them directly to Australia to save on time and money.
