Horford has had significant injuries too but not in the legs so hopefully less long term risk. He's still fairly young and he was having a very good season early last year before he went down. I imagine he could be successful at the 4 or the 5 for us.
Everyone would love to trade for Horford. But why do people always bring up such unrealistic scenarios? Atlanta has a good pg and doesn't have a quality center. Horford works fine at center if needed. Horford is a cornerstone and Bledsoe is a very talented yet unproven injury prone player who plays the position with the most quality talent and thinks he is worth over $80 million for five years. Nobody appears eager to pay him anywhere near that, much less give up quality or especially star assets for him.
Probably because it's a forum and we're bored and/or don't know what the hell we're talking about. Bledsoe vs. Horford WS/48 last year .140 vs. .141, almost identical. Bledsoe is younger and many think he has massive potential. Horford has probably peaked. Bledsoe also might put more butts in seats, which the ATL FO might consider.
Also the Hawks have shown willingness to trade him pretty recently. And Teague is good but not great, and their SGs are pretty mediocre.
I mean, maybe it is unrealistic but it doesn't seem outrageous to me. Perhaps we could throw in a draft pick.
