I might be a jerk about this, but why is Biz never here? I see he is now in South Africa. Don't get me wrong, I love what he does for Africa with his camps and building that relationship, I'm sure he is one of the top ambassadors in the league for it. I guess I just have an issue with possibly our center of the future (which I don't agree with) not in Charlotte like the rest of the guys constantly doing something with their games. We see all these pics throughout the summer of our guys in Charlotte working out together, and I think we got one day of pics with Biz. I'm all for athletes having lives and he is doing something with basketball, but at some point just chill.

I basically posted the same thing a couple weeks ago and got bitched at for saying it. Having camps is all fine and dandy, but hes been gone a good portion of the Summer.

Eh probably a week and a half or so ago. Hes been in Africa probably 3-4 of the past 5-6 weeks or so. Im sure hes still working out over there, but there is a huge difference in working out over in Africa than over here with our guys.

To some people the game of basketball and being a public figurehead with a plateau to stand on is much bigger than individual success. I say that to say that maybe Biyombo doesn't particularly care if he get much better this offseason, as long as he feel like he's made a difference in at least a few of those African kids lives by giving them hope & aspirations. Personally, I don't have a problem with it

This is Biyombo's 4th year, at this point I think he's entitled to be trusted to work on the aspects of his game the coaches want him to focus on without actually being in Charlotte. And speaking as someone who has lived and worked abroad going home for a few weeks should in no way be considered a luxury. For a lot of people it's necessary for their mental and emotional health, myself included.

And I am all for that. Do what you do. Live and let live. But if your goal isn't to get better and help the team that is paying you, don't expect another contract when your current one runs out. I'm big on the youth, I have coached, reffed, and been a director in a youth league so I get wanting to be a part of that. I also get the fact that I have invested money in a player and I am currently thinking about continuing that investment, but if your desire as being a better basketball player is put on the back burner then I will most definitely question if my investment in you as a basketball player is worth it.

I'm not asking him to stop doing his camps, I would never do that, but the amount of them and how they interfere with his progress as a ball player along with the progress of the team is concerning.

I wouldn't be so certain that he's not improving this offseason just because he isn't doing workouts at the Hornets facilities and not stateside. Also, I don't always think physical development is better than mental. I currently believe Biyombo is already a effective player that could be serviceable as a starter, and moreso despite not exclusively working out with Clifford & staff throughout the offseason I think he'll progress into a better player next season than the prior

I read and understand everything you're stating, but the brief snippets that we see via Instagram & Twitter of Biyombo doesn't show what work he may or may not be putting into the gym this offseason. I'll take the wait and see approach with Biyombo before jumping to the conclusion that he's not improving. Furthermore, I think the areas that Biyombo need to improve on have more to do with maturity and the mental aspect of the game slowing down for him more than physical attributes

Again for all we know he has his own personal trainer that has been traveling with him working on everything. Maybe he has instructions for what to do and does it every day. For all any of us know between his workouts and the camps he could be spending more time on a basketball court than anyone else on the team. I know in this day of media we feel like anything we don't see isn't happening but who knows. When he was in town he could have spent every day with Al and Ewing. Also saw a pic of him and Mutumbo and that guy would be a huge asset to Biz's development if he got any help there.

Biyombo led the ACB (considered the most competitive league in the world outside of the NBA) in blocks, and has proven to be a top-5 rim protector no matter how you want to sway it in the NBA in just 3 years as a raw prospect. I'm perfectly fine with his development now that he's shown progress on the rebounding aspect of his game

I think some people may be somber if they had expectations of him becoming similar in the vein of Dwight Howard & Hakeem Olajuwon, but my possible NBA comparison for him always was Ben Wallace, as a athletic shot blocker that could defend out to the perimeter. He currently still has some ways on that latter part, but he's progressing
