Still, it needs to be pointed out that the debate about the importance of how finishing before pre-season is pretty flawed. Pre-season does not necessarily tell you a lot about regular season rotation, it is a team people like James Harden average 15-20 mpg. And If the league is as competitive as you have said, most -if not all- rotation players will be taken by the 240th pick. I think it was Flip Murray who broke out during a pre-season (for a very short-lived glory, it needs to be said) and skewed the hell out of everybody's perception.
Lastly, no one addresses how people who get to be awake during games can pick up players breaking into the rotation before anyone else does, which makes this whole deal about the unfairness of drafting during pre-season seem a bit off.
I mean, how is it unfair? Do we know beforehand who will have the 274th pick and which 14 mpg player will break out while the 274th pick is on the clock? The answer is pretty much no.
I see what you are saying, but it's not our fault you don't live in the U.S.....MERICKA!!!
I'm kidding of course.
On the bright side, the worst offender to the "add him immediately after a good game" tactic is arguably WB...who will be in Italy this season.
I'm not arguing for or against any draft time, I'll draft whenever...I just wanted to make some jokes about MERICKA !
