Lithunians who follow Jonas in NBA are wishing the same

Yes like me. I was watching almost every game of Raptors last year, despite it was 1-3am in Lithuania, but i was very mad because i saw so many good opportunities to pass ball to JV on PNR, but there was almost none, mostly lowry or demar, passes ball not to JV after PNR but to guy which is on 3pt line or just keeps ball on their hands.
It's easy for JV to PnR against inferioir european players, against the NBA it's easy to stop JV on the PnR.

You know when I literally jumped out of my seat? When Jawai was trying to back down Jonas and he didn't move an inch. Granted, Jawai sucks, but he's basically a tub of lard and is much heavier than JV. Baynes also looks pretty damn big and he can't do anything against Jonas in the post. We officially have another beast on our team.

To an extent... but I think they are talking about the wide open rolls Jonas had throughout the season. There were quite a bit of them... but he didn't get the pass. Demar and Lowry were the biggest culprits of this, maybe a trust issue? I think they'll start trusting him a little more though this season...I hope, anyway.

For a gym rat he looked in terrible shape during summer league and in Aussies friendly games. Gasping for air, hands on hips all the time. Potential is there, but I am afraid that did not work for Milicic, Tzikitishwili,Vesely and other overrated international busts.

Exum's ball handling, shooting form and just the way he moves in general looks very impressive though.

I know what you meant which is why I stated it as I did. Exum is gonna be the real deal. He needs to work on his shot but that will come with time. He's super young but has everything you want from a top end prospect. Athleticism, bbiq, and he's a gym rat.

Well whatever those points are he didnt show anything noteworthy against Lithuania so far. In fact there were plenty of moments when Lithuiannian guards came out better than him.

No kidding.... an 18 year old who's last competition was against high schoolers is getting outplayed by a senior mens team who has played grown men during regular season?

SHOCKER

why do you like his shooting form? IMHO it is terrible, thus such a bad % on jumpers in summer league and in U18 last year. What he is today on jumpers 1-7? And he is 60% FT shooter as well..I think you can be impressed by his passing and first step and that's it. Ball handling? dude has no left hand whatsoever, will be exploited in NBA badly.

Brief notes:

Exum looks really worth his place on draft

Like in JV play: decent passing out, very good spacing (didn't count but he helped LTU bigs in at least 4-5 made shots by opening the paint), quite good (wish to be better) 1-on-1 offense

Don't like at JV: still overhelping on jumpshots even at 3-point shots; jeopardising calls and even injuries

Agreed in terms of Derozan and Lowry not looking for JV on the roll, I personally don't think they trust JV with the ball at all.

Great dunk. Anderson tried to foul but was too weak.

Jonas has been hammering guys with screens; slips the screen there and gets the dunk. Clever.
