That's Rogers.

I feel bad for Rogers. They clearly wanted this season to go in the tubes so they had an excuse to rebuild/slash payroll next season, but the Jays have inexplicably stayed in the race into August, which has caused even the biggest AA critics to turn their anger towards ownership for lack of additional spending. Poor billionaires.

I love watching those post game celebrations after a walkoff win, like the one pictured above. It's nice to see a team that loves to win so much, that is really trying, that seems to be a bunch of good guys who get along. If only management supported them in the way they should have.

So we were at the game yesterday, we took our 4 year old son for his first game. He made it to the end of the 11th before he could stand no more. Innings 12-16 passed while we were on the go train back to Burlington. innings 17-19 we spent in the pool with the game on the radio. The place sure was rocking in the ninth!

Well, they did give Wells a 7/126 extension.

Godfrey (and Ted when he was alive) actually cared about the Jays. Now, in Godfrey's case he may have cared too much (meddling), but it's better than not caring at all.

That's a bit deceiving, we took on Reyes when he had 96 million dollars left on his contract, that was pretty much a FA signing, it was actually riskier than the typical FA contract because the Marlins enjoyed one of the cheap yeast and left us with the backloaded part. Same deal with Mark Buerhle, he originally signed a 4 year 58 million deal, we took on 3 years 48 million. I think even fans of rich teams come to hate a vast majority of FA contracts, i don't know why Jays fans who complain about the 3 years remaining on Reyes' deal are also pining for us to go out and throw money at FA's. I want Rogers to spend money too but i want them to let AA do it smartly, on extensions, on short term high AAV contracts and on the farm system.

Also, on another note, the scam Loria was running is so obvious if you look back at it now, he tried to please the fans, MLB and the local politicians(who took on 2 billion in debt to pay for his stadium) by signing a bunch of back loaded contracts, gin up some publicity and hype for the re-brand with a new stadium and then use the excuse of a mediocre season to get rid of those contracts. Since then he's gone back to being an owner whose sole goal is to make profit off of redistribution money, forget winning and caring about the fans, he doesn't even care about making money of his team through ticket sales or TV revenue.

I know Rogers makes a lot of people miserable here but its horrific just imagining a predatory **** like Loria owning the Blue Jays.
