Who is the best current player on Team USA ?

With Kevin Durant withdrawing from the team, I don't believe there is a clear cut best player on the team.

Who you got ?

Rose.

He's going to be an unholy terror in this tournament with all the pent up frustration from the past few years. He's going to unleash hell on all these inferior teams and thoroughly embarrass all the haters/doubters. I feel bad for anyone who has to guard him I'll tell you that.

Curry if we go off last season. ADs defense athleticism and size make him more important to the team especially when looking at the depth at their respective postitions.

The relevant question might be "who is best suited to be the US Team's goto guy". A.D. has every chance to be a better overall player than all the little chucking guards who struggle to defend, but we all know that in coach K's system, A.D., Cousins, Drummond, whoever makes it up front, is mostly going to be forced to just be a hustle roleplayer, and Davis has yet to develop a true goto guy's offensive repertoire anyway. One of the perimeter guys is going to have to be "the man", whether he's the best overall player or not.

The thing that still bothers me is that aside from Rose, who is coming off the big injury, guys like Curry and Harden are not unique entities the likes of which Euro players never have to play against. They may be better than the guys the Euro players play against, but they are not freakishly big, or athletic, or quick or anything else in a way that makes them unguardable. So I vote Rose, but as its really his first action of any sort of respectable manner in 2 years, its just as likely going to be Harden.

My gut says AD and Rose. We will see after tonight's game. Rose is going to be focusing on running the team rather than dominance. I see AD going HAM tonight.

Homer in me wants to say Rose, but then I stop for a second and realize he's probably the worst on the list right now, due to rust.
Davis is more of a two way player than Curry and Harden, and he'll likely be better than both of them very soon. But I don't think he's reached that level quite yet.
It's tough to choose between the last two, but because they're both shooters primarily and I like Curry's shot selection better, I'd pick him. Doesn't help Harden that I dislike him in general.
