Yah I put some more thought into it and realized that this trade would only work for Millsap. I would still want Schroder though seeing as Millsap will be an UFA. A teague/bledsoe/hortford/korver core for them isn't too bad

HORFORD... just saying.

It's not working. Maybe it's add a "T" to everyone's name month? Anyway, I like Hortford but I'm not sure I'm willing to trade Bledstoe for him.

Did you just acknowledge that the spelling was incorrect, and then purposely spell it incorrectly, or make the same mistake on accident? :D

So they would trade him for Bledsoe, who has missed a lot of games the last three seasons and should give them injury concerns?

Compared to Horford, Eric looks like an Ironman candidate the last three years. Not that they wouldn't be concerned about Bledsoe's injury risks too. But Eric has a lot less mileage on him and if they think they're going to lose Al anyway it might interest them. I doubt it would happen, I just think it's comfortably within the bounds of the possible.

I'm beginning, more and more, to believe that our wing rotation of Dragic, Thomas, Ennis, Tucker, Green, Warren and Marcus was designed to allow for Bledsoe's attrition.

Dragic, Thomas, Green, Ennis should be enough to lock down the 1-2. Tucker, Warren and Marcus easily have the 3.

If we sign Bledsoe, that bumps Ennis out of rotation (which I don't mind), but it still means that Thomas and Green aren't getting the minutes they deserve.

I think the 2/24 would be interesting for him, but not for the Suns, who want to lock him up long time. They really have no incentive in offering that deal. 1 year for QO vs 2 years for 12M each, I'd much rather go for the 1 year, anyway.

The big difference is that on a 2-year deal the Suns would be able to trade Bledsoe without his consent and he would keep his Bird rights if he got traded. Bledsoe's trade value would be much higher than if he signed QO.

I see, and I agree, although you are talking about a more or less $10M cap difference between the QO and the 2 year (or 3y with PO as others mentioned) contract on the first year. That's how much you are valuing his bird rights/trade value.

Maybe something like this:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=o6ttakk

They get Bledsoe and Len to pair with Teague and Milsap.
We get Horford and just buyout Carroll.

No way we give the Hawks both Bledsoe and Len for Horford. That's silly.

Equally no way we would buy out Carroll if we ever got him. Dude can ball.

Then we have to deal away one of our other SF's. I'm not familiar enough with Carroll. Figure he'd be a salary throw in.

The reason I think it would be necessary is, we no longer have an advantage with Bledsoe. Without saying it, McDonough seemed to make it clear we are not paying him the max. Meanwhile, Horford fits exactly what we need in a star PF (as long as he stays healthy).
Maybe replace Len with someone else but I feel like we'd have to give more than just Bledsoe to get Horford back.

I do not think the Suns advantage/leverage with Bledsoe has changed one bit. Atl is not trading Horford.

I'd rather give the Hawks Plumlee than Len and I'm sure Bledsoe would love that as well. But agree with JDLaw, the Hawks aren't giving up Horford.

Give it time. Sign Bledsoe to four years and wait for his value to peak to get maximum assets.

I hope I'm wrong but I have no confidence we'll sign him long term. Technically we SHOULD have the leverage but if his agent and Bledsoe aren't trying to talk with us, maybe they are set on, 'if you don't offer the max, we won't talk with you and will accept the QO at the deadline'.

Anyone know if we're looking to sign anyone from summer league? Seems each year we pick someone but so far I've heard nothing

Doubt it, unless we trade our players away. Suns' roster is packed

I could care less what Bledsoe does.

The rotation of Dragic/Bledsoe/IT would be awesome but then again I wouldn't mind giving minutes to Ennis and Goodwin. Especially Goodwin.

To me whatever Bledsoe decides is a win win and unless another team offers him anything he will be here for at least 1 more year but most likely get traded.

And at this point I don't think I even want him here. If he takes the QO and we trade him im happy. If he accepts our offer I hope he can play 4 healthy years....but I doubt it.

Id rather have Bledsoe leave sign dragic to the max and pick up a solid player during next years FA.

Bledsoe seeking a max contract after half a season as a starter and two knee problems is like me looking for a raise at work after missing half the year with the flu.

This is how I feel about Bledsoe:

I think that's the issue. Bledsoe is far from a sure thing with his injuries and what not but he has the tools to be a star in this league and he has produced in the short time (and games) he's played with the Suns. I don't know if it's that easy to pick up a "solid" player from next year's FA or through a trade that could replicate Bledsoe's two-way game. The other thing is, I don't know how many players are lining up to join the Suns. I've heard the whole, we're a great destination because Phoenix has great weather/good city/winning franchise/etc but when was the last time we struck out on a legit FA? Goran Dragic? Grant Hill? I think we're the kind of franchise that does better developing our own talent than talent coming to the Suns.

There's a reason why we haven't told him to get stuffed yet after his max demands. We clearly like him as a player and on a decent deal, we'd be happy to have him and his questionable knees.
