Stubhub tickets: Wait or buy now?

Post#1 » by swe_suns » Mon Aug 18, 2014 7:40 pm

I'm going to Phoenix and then LA on 28th of October and I am looking to purchase single game tickets (as good seats as possible). I would like to sit courtside but those tickets are long gone. I will settle for lower level seating (preferably in the middle, row 1).

Should I play the waiting game or should I just go ahead and buy now? What is the best strategy, in your opinion?

Buy now, or if you are from overseas just visiting, send heartwarming tweet to the Phoenix Suns a couple days before the game, and on game-day if they have any seats left they'll probably message you back saying they have some tickets for ya.

Last year I purchased tickets to opening night off StubHub about 35 minutes before tipoff and got 17th row center court tickets for like $35. That's usually what I do when I want to go to a game on the cheap, wait until season ticket holders get desperate to get rid of tickets at the last minute.

Stubhub tickets: Wait or buy now?

Markieff follows me on twitter, I think I am going to DM him for away game in Sac or Golden State tickets lol
I did him a favor 2 years ago and followed me since and asked if I ever needed anything to hit him up because of it. (This is why I love this guy)

I live in AZ but I am catching some away games. Last year I went to NY and stayed in NY family section from Hardaway JR. Friend plays for NY Giants and got the hook up.

That's what I do too. I've been to multiple games after different arenas and always get GREAT deals on tickets, especially if you wait until a little after tip off when scalpers are desperate and don't want to be holding them and getting nothing.

I was just looking on ticketmaster for preseason tickets to Suns v Spurs on Oct 16... Lower level US$199!! What the f? It's preseason!

Resale has them a bit cheaper... Does anyone know if preseason games sell out?

Also, for those wanting regular season tickets... I found out last year that the prices go up the closer it gets to tip off. Went to MIA at PHX last year, got the prices from the ticket window in the morning... Went back in the evening and they had gone up by about $30.

I'll be coming from Canada for that season opening week. Got both lakes and spurs tickets.

I wouldn't wait on the lakers tickets. It is THE season opener and vs the lakers. Section 118, Row 9 for $150
and same seats for Spurs for $130.

If you are visiting from far it would be wise to buy now to avoid disappointment :D
