When does the TPE expire? In June 2015? Go after Koufos or Harris.

I agree. All around player , great vision, great passer, good ball handler, solid to good defender, good 3pt, gets steals, smart.

Dude put up crazy good numbers when he started last year. I wanna say he started like 21 games when Conley got injured. He would be a perfect fit here.

Got suspended for violating the NBA PED policy before the playoffs. I want to see how he performs this season before I want to see the NYK trade for him.

I read this one as well and the penalties get stiffer if Philadelphia does not do anything by the trade deadline. I wanted to get rid of Travis Outlaw in the worst way, so I added him to this deal which will still help the Sixers meet the floor.

Only difference is that the Knicks get Thaddeus Young in return for their "troubles" in giving up two expiring contracts.

If Philly is truly serious about tanking, Outlaw should seal the deal. :o

The Knicks have no incentive beyond dodging the luxury tax to dump Amar'e at the deadline. Any huge TPE would be renounced for cap space most likely and it'd still cost an asset. It made sense if it was done earlier to allow us to do a sign and trade this summer and/or use the full MLE, but doing it mid-season is incredibly stupid. The only way it'd make sense is if it was done before the deadline and we had a deal lined up for that huge TPE- which is highly unlikely.

Suns are apparently in 'deal mode' for Bledsoe at this point. I'd be wary of paying Bledsoe the max especially with knee issues but it might be a nice buy low opportunity.

Here's an idea. We need a 2nd (and third) star player and the Pelicans need off ball threats as there aren't enough shots to go around for Gordon/Holiday/Evans/Davis.

Holiday

for

Calderon, Iman, Larkin, Early

Money is basically neutral for us, Holiday can pass/shoot/defend/penetrate and is probably a top 10-12 PG. Larkin and Early aren't important and Iman's only skill (defense) is made up for by Jrue. Pelicans get players who play off ball and would fit their team better. Money is basically neutral for 2015, may actually add a little cap if we would have re-signed Shump for 4+

Holiday / Prigs
Smith / Timmy
Melo / Outlaw
Amare / Barg / Acy
Dally / Cole

This makes the sum of the Tyson trade basically:

Tyson, Felton, Tyler, Shump

for

Holiday, Dally, Outlaw, Acy, Thanasis

Though it is definitely a possibility...this quote is from an article discussing the Sixers having to reach the league minimum or split the money between their players as bonuses. They could look to take on any number of players besides Amar'e.

I think Phil will try to do a little bit more before the season starts. After that...Amar'e and Bargs go on the block. Dalembert as well if he makes it trough the small trade or 2 I assume to see PMFJ trying to put together.

I am not worried about any of it. I am not going to rack my brain trying to sort out the possibilities of players and salaries and trades and FA from next season. I will will never guess it anyway. PJ shocked the **** out of me with that DAL trade.

Let go and Let Phil!!

I hear that! It's a good time to be a knick fan, we have our cornerstone in melo locked down, and Phil came in firing and making moves. He won't settle for anything less than a championship. that's how he and fisher are wired and hopefully they can create that culture quickly. The Knicks have had the talent these last 3 years but lacked direction. Fish is one of my all time "tough guys" I think it's going to be very refreshing from the start.

But I still can't imagine Phil keeping JR around for a while. Phils always been a few steps ahead and hardaway clearly deserves bigger minutes.

Are we allowed to use the TPE after we use our cap space? Assuming that's the case. If you can, then maybe Pjax has players in mind who teams are selling that he'll go after the moment he fills up the cap space

No. To use cap space you need to renounce all TPEs.

Then I see no value in moving him. Dolan wants to rape us on ticket prices he could foot the luxury tax bill

Trades our depth, but not really our youth and flexibility. Jrue is still a young player with a good amount of room to fill out and the combined salaries of Early, Shump (who is a RFA this upcoming offseason), Larkin, and Calderon = Jrue's salary -- so we don't lose any flexibility for next offseason.

Jrue is locked into his contract (roughly 11 per) for a few more years. He's different than Calderon, but I think he'd fit in really nicely with us. Although, I'm biased as I've been a fan for a few years now.

I don't see NOP letting him go for that package, though.
