Good point.

In that case, the TPE would be $4,644,503.

Because someone has to play PF.

Wojo reporting the deal. All systems go

Adrian Wojnarowski
‏@WojYahooNBA
As @JerryZgoda 1st reported, Minny's Luc Mbah a Moute, Alexey Shved and Heat '15 1st-rounder go to 76ers for Thad Young. Deal done Saturday.

Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA · 12m
Never was Anthony Bennett going to Sixers in any Thad Young deal. Always destined to play with Andrew Wiggins in Minny as part of Love deal.

Hold the line, Love isn't always on time

We might as well get out as many as we can before he's traded.

Rich Paul to LeBron a few days prior to the Decision 2.0:

"You need more than the Gerhard Richter hanging on your wall, a chauffeur-driven limousine on call, to drive your wife and lover to a white tie ball.

You need more, you need more, you need more, you need more, you need Love."

The only black spot left on the roster is Barea.
We try to trade this mf for 2 years with no success, JJ the human leech.

Because our PF rotation, post-trade will be:

Young/Bennett/Hummel

Without Young, we don't have a starting PF, and without Bennett, we don't have a (competent) backup PF.

I was also contemplating this for awhile. Still don't own any official wolves merch. I have a hat that says "Raised by Wolves" made by a Canada company of the same name, and a Montana shirt that has a bunch of Wolves on it.

You need to go on Amazon and buy the "Three Wolves" t-shirt. It's a must for any Wolves fan.

Alexey, change this face! Be happy! Enjoy!

Seriously, he should. He's gonna have a much better chance to play in the Sixers.

Farewell Alexey.

Only 1 day left.

Dude. Destiny. I knew Woj was on the inside, but that's some Darth Vader-Luke Skywalker business.

We'll get a traded player exception (TPE) in the amount of the difference between our outgoing and incoming salaries. If the list of reported players involved is accurate, our TPE would be worth $2,898,266.

Barreiro expects the TPE to be $5-6M and I think he's right.

If it's done as two separate trades we'd get a $5M TPE from the CLE part of the deal. No reason not to do it that way.

Yes. However...

Minnesota can dice it up as:
Love for Thad, Bennett, and Wiggins.
LMAM for a TPE
Schved for a TPE

and get 2 tpe's, $4,382,576 and $3,282,056. To me gaining the second 3.2m TPE is worth shaving 250k off the first one, however to be sure you could scroll through all contracts and confirm there is no one at 4.5m that is attractive and realistic first.

The list of such players (absolutely ignoring availability) is:
Movgov
Butler
Jerebko
Ben Gordon
Andre Miller
Bradley Beal.

I would take the two TPE's.

Just want to point out, that Jerry Zgoda was the one who was always saying we weren't flipping Bennett for Thad Young. Others....including Doogie and APSportsGuy were saying Bennett was going to be flipped for Young until about three weeks ago, and then suddenly changed their stance overnight. This isn't a post ripping them, because once they changed their opinions....they didn't waffle back even when the bogus report came from the Philly writer who said Bennett was going to Philly. I also enjoy reading and listening to APSportsGuy and Doogie, so I would never rip them. This is just to point out to some of you who like to rip him that Zgoda was the one who had this trade correct the whole way.

Philadelphia would have to give two protected second rounders to do it your way, fwiw.

Eh, I don't think that is true.

http://www.shamsports.com/2014/07/consi ... trade.html

The league seems pretty clear that for a trade to happen they need assets to exchange hands and would crack down on that. However, Philly definitely qualifies for that in general, and I haven't seen any evidence that the league would take the leap to apply those standards to how a trade gets broken down by one team -- although the flip side is there isn't any that they won't. But breaking down the parts to create the most favorable TPE's has always existed. What seemed to be strengthed is the inclusion of a third team giving up next to nothing, and making sure that they do indeed give up something of value -- which Thad would seem to qualify as.

That said, it is possible that the league does take this memo and try and close a barn door on how trades get rejiggered all the time. I doubt it, but it is possible.

(And for what it is worth, Philly has plenty of 2nds they could top 55 protect and use if needed, but I really don't see that the issue at all.)

After this gets done tomorrow...Who the hell is going to rebound for this team when the other hasn't turned it over? I'm assuming Ricky will be on 5.5-6 rpg but Pek likes boxing out and Thad is a bad rebounder...Wiggins?
